Board: Yes PYL UnInc. DCP
Size: 159
Camber Option: Camrock 1-4-1. A mellow rocker with a more pronounced camber.
Bindings: Rome Black Label
Stance: 21.5 Wide 15 Negative 12 Goofy
Boots: K2 Thraxis Size 10
My Weight: 200lbs
Resort: Copper Mountain
Conditions: Gray skies with high visibility, snow falling, chop, chunder, left over pow, frozen groomers, and just about a mix of every condition you can think of.
Flex: This board comes in with a stiffer freeride flex throughout it. You’ll notice it’s stiffer than the regular PYL. What you get is a tiny bit more flex in the nose then it stiffens up to through the center to the tail where there’s a little play way out there. The torsional flex is there but not overly noticeable.
Stability: This board is super stable. It just plows through chop and chunder with ease. When charging on a groomer you get a little chatter underfoot but it’s nothing to worry about. Overall this board is smooth and stable with a little bit of liveliness to keep it playful.
Ollies: When you load the camber section up and believe me you will have to load it up it engages the main area of rebound and as you roll back on the tail it springs off it with immense power. This is a board you can be slightly laid back when popping a sidehit or cat track, but you still have a precision if you want it.
Butterability: Man this thing was rough and took a lot of work. I found myself just man handling this board and putting everything I had into it to do nose butters. Doing high speed wheelies was where it was at with this board.
Carving: So here’s something I noticed after riding the regular PYL. This board steers better and has more power in the edge. It just grips and holds on. There’s a slower edge to edge power transmission but it has more power which lets you just rail a carve with ease. With it being slightly stiffer than the regular version it also has more power out of a carve when you load the camber section up. One thing I didn’t notice was it kicking out on carves due to the Tapered Underbite not fully engaging, it just felt far more secure. If you can carve then let it rip.
Rider in Mind: The powerful pow chasing freeride guy.
Personal Thoughts: I liked this version far more than the regular PYL. It just had more power, a more stable ride, and gripped on edge better. The Tapered Underbite just works so much better on this model compared to the other version.
Comparable Boards: Academy Masters, Ride Berzerker, Capita Kazu
Binding Recommendations: Now Select Pro, Ride A-9, Union Atlas Pro

Thanks for what you do.
11.5 boot, 200lb, would you go shorter if I plan on chasing pow in trees? ill also be all over the mountain, so I like the idea of the 161 to charge hard and have a long sidecut and more volume to float. I currently use a 159 standard in trees which has been nimble enough.. so im thinking just go 161 and wont notice a difference, and i wont be living in the trees so ill value the length more than the short time in trees. What are your thoughts?
Sounds like a good idea to me.
Hi Angry
Thanks for this review! And all your others. Love your work.
Would the Rome cleaver binding work with this board? I cant get the others you recommend locally. Cheers.
It’s a little stiff but should totally work.
Hey angry, good job on all the reviews, appreciate
Just tried out the PYL uninc DCP and enjoyed it, but I’m in the UK and only got a short time on it at a pretty crappy indoor slope.
Any other recommendations for someone who liked this board, particularly the stiffness, but wants something a bit more versatile?
Probably just want to go down to a Standard or Standard UnInc from Yes.
Hi Avran,
Which one of PYL Uninc and the Kazu Pro rides switch better? I’m in the market for a resort/powder charger in this directional category of boards and I know the limitations of directionality. I’d rather be able to go switch from time to time than have the best directional plank on the planet (and I don’t want another twin).
Many thanks, Legend.
Probably Kazu.
Thanks for your review. I’ve picked this up in a 157. Now for bindings. What would be the best fit in your opinion between Union atlas or Rome Katana both 2023. Thanks for your help. I can’t get the others you recommend where I live. Cheers.
Katana.

Angry my man,
Specs pretty much as yourself and looking to downsize to the 155.
Good option for a more carvy cruiser that can still get me in the air off smaller hits?
Yes rate both PYLs as an 8/10 on stiffness, so thinking that sizing down will counteract the increased width/volume of the Uninc. and make it slightly (emphasis on slightly) more playful. Or would a Warca be a better option?
Thanks.
Yeah you can get away with it. Flex ratings really don’t mean shit. If you want full playfulness where you can be lazy the Warca or Hybrid make the most sense.
Thanks.
Does this or the Berzerker sound better for someone riding mammoth steeps, small – meidum drops, deep days, and warm srping days. Want to handle chunder and be able to make quick turns too.
Hi,
My measures are 11.5 boot, 144 lbs, 5’55” tall. What do you think would fit best for me. I’m thinking about the 155cm or 157cm.
(I know my boots are big for my weight..:)
Your call.
