Conditions: Sunny bluebird skies, zero wind, firm fast groomers, ice, chunder, cooler temps, and average low tide mid season conditions.
Flex: This board has that true middle of the road park flex that’s predictable and you know exactly what it’s going to do. Softer in the tips, slightly stiffer through the mid section, and with a lot of torsional give to it so you can really twist it.
Stability: There’s a little chatter in the tips but you never really notice it or feel like the boards going to get bucked around and wash out. In rutted out terrain it bends and flexes with every counter but stays on top of it.
Ollies: Here’s where this board shines it’s designed to pop over, up on, or off everything in front of you. The camber section loads up easily and creates a flex/spring point right where they meet. This gives you the pop you need to boost. Is it the snappiest deck out there? No, but it definitely gets the job done.
Pop On Jumps: This board is fully at home on jumps with its penchant being more of the medium sized jumps. It launches with ease but gives you that added snap to give you just a hair bit more boost off the lip. So send it and forget it.
Butterability: The rocker section in the nose and tail gives this optimal spot for locking into a butter. Get sideways it holds but still retains its pop so you can spring out of it. This board has the right amount of spring to lock to keep you satiated with your buttering needs.
Jibbing: Here’s another fine example of this board shining. It locks into presses but much like buttering gives you the pop out of a feature that you want. When you get sideways it hugs the feature but doesn’t clap out from being too soft. Overall this board is a breeze to jib with.
Carving: While you can’t fully rail it over on edge at all times and the torsional flex can be over powered causing the board to seem a bit hooky due to it being man handled it gets the job done. Short tight quick carves or long hard drawn out ones it’s fine at. It’s the deep aggressive ones that really center flex the board that have issues. Then again it’s a twin park board so who cares?
Rider in Mind: Park rider that wants camber underfoot but some more play in the tips.
Personal Thoughts: It’s been FOREVER since I last rode the T1 and man that’s just too long. This board rips and is solid for being a daily driver park board. It has play where you want it, it’s got snap and precision where and when you need it, and it’s not an overly demanding park board.
