Board: Interior Plain Project Honalee
Camber Option: Good ole fashioned traditional camber.
Bindings: Rome Black Label Bindings
Stance: 21.5 Wide 15 Negative 12 Goofy
Boots: K2 Thraxis Size 10
My Weight: 200lbs
Resort: Copper Mountain
Conditions: Warmer temps, bluebird skies, firm fast groomers, and little piles of chunder here and there.
Flex: This board comes in around a middle of the road park flex for a high end board. What you have is a small area in the tips that’s softer that makes it easier to press, stiffer through the insert pack to the center, and then a little torsional flex.
Stability: This board is super stable. You feel it just grip when you ride and it plows through everything with ease. At real high speeds you might get a little chatter out in the tips and feel some of the vibrations resonate back under foot.
Ollies: This board has snap! With as much camber as it has you do have to load it up but when you do it boosts. This is a deck that’s designed for launching everything. Be prepared to load this board up and it will let you know that it has a lot of rebound, this deck isn’t for the feint of heart.
Pop On Jumps: This thing sends it. You fly off lips and boost further because of the amount of camber on this board. It’s a deck designed for jumping.
Butterability: So you have to get way out over the tips to butter on this board and really man handle it, but that’s not a bad thing, it just means you know how to snowboard. There’s a ton of rebound so it will fight you every step of the way.
Jibbing: A little speed is key with this board as well as knowing where the sweet spots are. You want to be a bit calculated with what you’re doing and get your weight out over the tip and tail to really lock in. Going sideways you’ll notice that the camber section slightly cradles the board over the feature but it’s not so loose that it folds when you boardslide.
Carving: This board is quick and nimble edge to edge. It rolls in and out of turns easily. In deep hard carves there’s enough camber and stiffness to drive this board hard off the tail and get it to slingshot out of turns. If you like camber and you like to carve plus want a twin, this is it.
Rider in Mind: High end freestyle rider that will ride the whole mountain.
Personal Thoughts: I’ve owned 2 of these boards. So it’s safe to say I know this board. It’s a great high end freestyle deck that can handle it all on the mountain. If you like camber and you like pushing your boards limits then this board should be highly considered.
