While at SIA Tanya from Omatic hooked me up with this years deck so I could get in a few laps on it the Sunday before On Snow to compare the current B.S. Technology to next years. There’s some very obvious differences between the current generation and next years. But even with a few solid days riding this around the review pretty much remains the exact same.
Board: Omatic Extr-Eco BS Wiggle Stick
Camber Option: Rocker with BS so raised tips and beveled up bases near the edge to provide a catch free ride.
Bindings: K2 Formulas
Angles: 18 negative 15
Boots: K2 T1 DB size 10
My Weight: 165
Conditions: Bluebird to over cast and snowy
Preconceived Notions: Ridden it before thought it was an OK ride, riding it again as a park deck for a few days.
Flex: Stiffer park twin more suited for jumping than jibbing.
Stability: Solid at speeds and through the chunder but still lively.
Ollies/Pop: Still stick to my claim that flat pop it’s not anything to write home about but off the edge you can really throw it.
Butterability: BS makes the board catch free so spinning around its a blast and you can really get it pressed over.
Cruising: This board rolls over on edge a lot easier due to the B.S. and lets you really rail it through a turn without any issues.
Jibbing: Without the fear of the edge catching you can really press this deck and know that it’ll lock on.
Rider in Mind: Park guy that wants a deck they can turn with.
Personal Thoughts: Giving this board a second go for the last few days has been a lot of fun. As a jump deck this board handles what I’ve been throwing at it. Still not as poppy as other decks on the market but a solid contender none the less.
What They Say:
Kumbaya brothers and sisters—it is now officially cool to care about our planet. And already, we’re so environmental it’s making us sick—we’re totally turning green over here. With that in mind we’ve collaborated with the corporate worlds favourite eco bandwagoners, ECORPO™ to bring you the 2009 EXTR-ECO.
We’re still poisoning the atmosphere by rooping through the backcountry on 900cc snowmobiles, sometimes even helicopters, so we had to do our part elsewhere. We’re hip to green manufacturing practices, so we reduced the impact of our boards by making them with elfin magic.
This unique production process means that the only environment put in jeopardy by Omatic, is the one in the land of make believe. That’s something we can all feel good about. The new EXTR-ECO features our cruelty-free VERTWALL™ sidewall technology for peaceful, powerful turns. The combination of a recycleable INTELIGENTCORE™, optional B.S. base tech and a certified organic TRIAXIAL fiberglass matrix give this new stick more pop than a turbo Hybrid Hummer.
