Every few months some engineer that went snowboarding once and had a bad time feels they can reinvent something that has to do with snowboarding. They pour their time, heart, soul, and sometimes bank account into the idea. Other times they just run to Internet pan handling websites like Kickstarter or Indiegogo to attempt to get funding. The truth is they aren’t going to reinvent shit because, well, real snowboarders will just mock them for doing something stupid while making asinine claims.
This time around Indiegogo is hosting a product called the SANKIboard, yet another company that feels they will create a suspension system for your snowboard and thus save your knees! Because you know your knees which are already an anatomical suspension system just aren’t doing a good enough job. Here’s a hint if your knees hurt you’re either weak or have improper arch support, get some good footbeds in your boots, don’t buy a stupid suspension system.
Now if you’re brave enough to watch their video you will see that this product claims that all snowboarders have to ride uneven terrain which takes too much concentration away from pointing your selfie stick at yourself to get the best shot. They also go on to talk about a slew of other things that make snowboarding “too hard” and thus aim to eradicate it. But really they just wanted to give you the ability to concentrate more on not impaling yourself on the selfie stick.
Their claims of being the first are highly misleading though. Look at this episode of WOW below.
Which is really just an homage to Yobeat’s Bouncy Board.
Which was pretty much just a mockery of the OhSki, which was just a play on the Manic Snowboard Binding. If you’ve noticed one trend in this it’s that the only ones that are still around are the ones that mock this bullshit.
So will you be supporting this crowd funding for the SANKIboard?
