Conditions: Sunny bluebird skies, high winds at times, average temps, a couple inches on top of left over pow, groomers, chop, chunder, and a little ice.
Flex: This has a middle of the road freestyle flex in a all mountain freeride shell. That means a little more play in the tips with the nose being slightly softer than the tail. The mid section is stiffer but has a ton of torsional flex.
Stability: The width of this board adds to the stability of it. You do get chatter in the tips and you can feel that at speeds as it does slightly resonate back underfoot. In rutted out terrain the board will flex with everything but if it gets super lumpy you can get bucked around. This board is basically stable to a point but that’s what is to be expected.
Ollies/Pop: The snap is there as it’s traditional camber. You load it up and it pops. This is a board that has some solid spring when you launch a sidehit or roller. If you like to pop, then you’ll pop. If you don’t, well time to get used to it.
Butterability: The tips are playful and you can press into them with relative ease. There’s a little rebound but nothing that will force you to manhandle it. Lock it in and expect a little pop out of the end of it and go on your way.
Carving: The edge to edge power transmission is smooth and fluid. This board steers underfoot and lets you change the angle of the carve with minimal ankle flex. When you crank this board on edge you have to drive the board from the inside of both insert packs to get it to really grip. On ice it gets a little loose and you feel that it’s not as secure. In soft snow, obviously it grips way better. Laying it over hard if you’re going fast it’s fine, when you slow it down it just doesn’t feel as secure. Short tight quick carves or medium hard carves at speed are its strong suit.

Personal Thoughts: It gets the job done but it doesn’t stand out as being this overly exceptional board. It has its place and it’s playful where it counts. The big thing is that there’s some limitations on ice with that sidecut. I will say that it’s a very easy to turn from underfoot but it’s not the most aggressive for driving it hard in a carve.
