Location: Copper

Conditions: Sunny bluebird skies, average to warm temps, left over powder dust, crust, chop, chunder, and perfect hero snow groomers.

Binding Adjustability: There’s twist cams on the straps to lengthen or shorten them as well as being able to be flipped and switched to give a more surfy or freeride setting. The bushings are interchangeable from soft, medium, or hard. Finally you have the twist and slide forward lean adjustment.

Straps: These straps are very minimal in design. The heel strap locks around your instep and allows the boot to provide all of its padding while not having any of the issues of it bunching up or creating a pinch point. The toe strap fits well over the end of the boot and will fit a magnitude of shapes.

Ratchets: These climbed well and released properly. There weren’t any issues with it sticking or having issues at all. Only gripe is that they should both have a one finger quick release if you put it on one, put it on the other.

Highbacks: This highback is super wide and just cradles the back of the boot. The little wing does allow for a bit more grip when you drive it laterally. These are stiff and do have a lot of natural forward lean so be aware of that if forward lean isn’t your thing.

Binding Flex: This binding is stiff that’s a given. It’s your standard freeride binding and it lets you know that. Sure you can tweak the strap flex by flipping the heel straps but even then it’s mildly more forgiving on the straps.

Ride: This is a super responsive binding. Between the stiffer flex and Skatetech it just has a powerful consistent roll to it that lets you drive into the binding and get response out of it.

Rider in Mind: Powerful freeride guy that might swap the straps for something surfy.

Personal Thoughts: If you want precision and control this is the binding. You sacrifice some lateral play for more drive. There’s something about hopping on a binding with Skatetech and how responsive it is. You can just feel the power driving down into the edge of the board with this binding. It gives an insane amount of control.
