Board: Yes Typo
Size: 156
Camber Option: 2-4-2 Camrock. Mellower rocker with more camber.
Bindings: Rome Black Label
Stance: 21.5 Wide 5 Negative 12 Goofy
Boots: K2 Thraxis Size 10
My Weight: 200lbs
Resort: Copper Mountain
Conditions: Mostly bluebird skies, moderate winds at time, cooler temps, chunder, ice, slush, frozen snow, and perfect corduroy.
Flex: This board comes in with a flex just past a middle of the road all mountain freestyle. You have a little more play in the nose than the tail with a consistent flex in the mid section. There’s a bit of torsional flex but it’s not overly abundant.
Stability: This thing is mostly stable to a point. In super rutted out terrain you will get knocked around. There’s a little flutter in the tip on a groomer but it’s nothing major.
Ollies: You load the camber up it activates that rocker zone and you get some snap. It’s not overly poppy but it’s predictable and gets the job done. You always feel like it’s never going to leave you underwhelmed.
Pop On Jumps: This board has more than what you need to go hit a small, medium, or large jump with ease. It pops off the lip and stomps into the landings.
Butterability: The nose is a little easier to get out over than the tail. The camber and flex do fight you so be prepared to work for it a bit more than you would think.
Jibbing: A little speed goes a long way with this board it locks into nose presses with ease and has the pop you want to get out of it. The tail on the other hand takes a little more work and you’ll find yourself sitting on it to get a solid deep press. Going sideways this board pretty much teeter totters on the feature and doesn’t feel like it’s cradling it as much as it could.
Carving: The edge to edge transmission is quick and nimble. It’s a board that doesn’t make you consciously think about how you’re going to steer it, it just goes. The Underbite gives it more control right at the inserts which does help with ankle steering the board. When you rail a turn you can sit on that back foot and drive it from inside towards the middle then transition it back out to the tail. Short quick carves to long hard deep drawn out ones it has you covered.
Rider in Mind: All mountain freestyle guy.
Personal Thoughts: I think they stiffened this board up just a bit. It felt more all mountain instead of freestyle like the last one did when I rode it. It’s a well balanced board and it can handle just about everything on the mountain with ease. For the person that’s only going to own one board this is a solid option.
Comparable Boards: Dinosaurs Will Die Kwon, Capita Mercury, Rome National
Binding Recommendations: Now Select Pro, Union Force, Ride C-8

Is this the 156w? There is no 156.
It’s still a 156.
This or The Greats for an intermediate rider looking to get better at allmtn freestyle riding?
Either honestly. Ask yourself if you want an asym sidecut that’s the big difference here.
I am 152 lbs body weight and size 12.5 foot (wear a 13 boot.) Also 6’2″ height.
Is the 156W still in the ballpark for me? Only the 156W and 161 (not wide) are available.
Should work.
I also plan on riding it symmetrical instead of offset. I like to go fast, I like to do trees, I often am on hard pack and ice, and I like to hit POW. Small Jumps too.
I’ve destroyed my Typo grinding too many rails and want a similar board that has the pop/snap of my Endeavor Archetype (that thing is a pogo stick for nose butters).
Not sure what qualities make a board snappy like that… Any recs?

I’ve saw your binding recommendations for Yes Typo. Would you still recommend Union Force for an early intermediate rider who rides mostly groomers and no park/jumps with ThirtyTwo Lashed Double BOA boots?
Are they the right stiffness for my boots? What are your thoughts?
Thanks
They’ll work.
Would Union Contact Pro be more suitable or Force will suffice? Or am I overthinking this?
I wouldn’t do either.
What would your top 3 be?
There’s literally 3 binding recommendations for this board in the review.
Hey angry how are you? At 6.1, 185 weight, 11Us boot, should I go for the 156W or 159W?
Intermidiate rider, very little park riding, and just a few days of pow.
Cheers mate!
Get the 59w.
Hi,
Do you rec the 159W or 156W?
6’1 and 178lbs. Size 11.5 boot. Currently ride a stiff 159W board. Looking at the Typo. Was thinking of sizing down to the 156W but worried about toe overhang with the Cartel X (the back sorta sticks out on my board).
My riding style is mostly groomers and a little park with a tiny bit of pow when it happens. Looking for something a bit more playful and maneuverable for moguls and jumps as well as getting into a bit more park.
The other option is the Jones MTN Twin 2022 (same size issue). The typo looks more fun and a bit more different thn my current board.
56w.
Hey!
I’m 5’10, 180lbs and I have a size 9 boots
I bought a 156w Typo. Should I be worried about the width of the board? Is it to wide for my size 9 boots? I will pair the board with Strata bindings size M
Thanks
I wouldn’t have done it, but hey you do you big guy!
I had one in my quiver. Super fun board. You can butter and have fun in park. All mountain riding is super fun for jibbing and ollies. It pops well and can ride pow and tree fine. Not it’s strong point. Carves fairly well and holds on ice. Not super solid hauling at speed over uneven terrain though.
