Conditions: Bluebird skies, moderate temps, ice, chunder, death cookies, frozen corduroy, slush on the lower mountain, and did I mention ice?
Binding Adjustability: Here’s what you have going on, adjustable heel cup with 3 screws, push pins on the toe straps to align them where they need to be, PivotMount for the heel, highback rotation, 0/3/6 degree canting for the highback, forward lean adjustment, and the toe ramp is adjustable too.
Straps: You have the Aux strap on both the heel and toe. This removes excess padding and makes it contour to the boot shape more while relying on it to provide the padding. The toe strap because of this fits a magnitude of boot shapes and you don’t have to worry about it slipping.
Ratchets: Smooth like butter, the only way to describe these things. They climb well, the one finger quick release is solid, and you never have to worry about them slipping or clogging up from what I found.
Highbacks: The highback is that middle of the road flex, you notice it when you push into it, but it’s not overwhelming. There’s enough give to tweak with it but also enough if you need power to drive into your heelside turn.
Binding Flex: The overall flex is just slightly above a middle of the road. You notice a bit more lateral play due to the Asym Heel Cup. It’s not an overly demanding binding which makes it nice for all mountain freestyle use.
Ride: The overall ride is flexible and friendly meaning that you can play around in the binding but not have to worry when you decide to charge. The Asym Heel Cup gives more lateral play which makes buttering and getting your weight out over the tip or tail easier.
Rider in Mind: All mountain freestyle specialist.
Personal Thoughts: This is essentially a downgraded Black Label which is my binding of choice. The only real difference between mine and this is that I use the Foam straps and have a different highback, otherwise it’s the exact same ride. It’s predictable and does what you need it to do.
