Conditions: Sunny blue skies, average temps, perfect corduroy, some left over heavy pow off the run, and chopped out conditions in spots.
Binding Adjustability: The heelcup is fully adjustable so you can slide it in or out based on where you need it. There are flip cams on the straps for helping center them. The heel strap/highback has a groove for rotating it as well as moving the strap forward or backward. There’s a forward lean adjustment tab. The toe ramp has a little bit of adjustment which lets you slide it forward and backward to help center it. Finally you have the option of a composite or aluminum disk which can change how the binding flexes underfoot, for testing purposes I used the composite.
Straps: The heel strap features Rides 3 piece design. This gives it the ability to lock you down but not bunch up and really drive into it without feeling like you’re pushing into something that gives you a pressure point. The toe strap has a layer of cover foam where the cutout is which has give to it, but the cutout itself isn’t overly large so it’s a tight fit on most boot shapes. I did have them slip out on me a few times.
Ratchets: These climb exceptionally well and are easy to use. The release tab is great does it’s job. When Ride redesigned their ratchets they nailed it with how well they work.
Highbacks: The highback is a little more narrow than others out there so it really lines up more to the spine of your boot without having any excess. This allows you to drive into it with ease and as it’s a little stiffer you notice that power. The forward lean adjustment works the way you want it to so nothing revolutionary there.
Binding Flex: The overall flex seems to be a combination of the C-8 and C-10. you get the base of the 8 series which makes it more middle of the road all mountain with the straps and highback being closer to the 10 giving it more power. There’s a little lateral flex but not a lot. If anything I would say that this borders more into the freeride realm than freestyle with its flex.
Ride: This is a very smooth and stable ride. It does a great job of dampening all the chunder and energy you feel underfoot without sacrificing its power and drive.

Personal Thoughts: As I said it seems to be a combo of the 8 and 10 series. Did Ride really need to make this? I don’t know seems like too much overlap for a marginal changes. Overall it’s a great binding with a smooth damp ride but still just enough play to let you get your weight outside the binding for presses and butters. The straps really let you drive into them.
