The 2021 Rossignol Retox Snowboard Review

By Angrysnowboarder @angrysnowboard · On February 14, 2021

Board: Rossignol Retox

Size: 153

Camber Option: Traditional Camber.

Bindings: Rome Black Label

Stance: 21.5 Wide 15 Negative 12 Goofy

Boots: K2 Thraxis Size 10

My Weight: 200lbs

Resort: Copper Mountain

Conditions: Overcast skies, flat light, cold temps, some wind, chunder, ice, firm snow, and corduroy.

Flex: This is your predictable middle of the road park flex. Slightly softer tips stiffening up through the insert pack to the middle of the board where it hits the torsional flex and gets a tad softer.

Stability: To a point this board is stable, in really rutted out terrain keep those knees bent and be prepared to get knocked around. In the park it’s fine.

Ollies: Having full camber this board has pop and you know what to expect from it if you’ve ever ridden traditional camber. Load it up and prepare for the rebound to engage. Is it the snappiest deck out there? No, but it doesn’t have to be as it does more than get the job done.

Pop On Jumps: Don’t hesitate to send a jump with this thing, it’ll get the job done. I spent the day over shooting the smallest jump on earth just to see what it could handle. If you’re a competent rider it’s got you covered.

Butterability: The slightly softer tips with that chopped down shape give you a platform to lock into presses. The camber will give you some rebound so expect it to fight you. If you’re a lazy person that’s never ridden camber and wants to butter you’ll probably eat shit and die.

Jibbing: Slow or fast this board is perfect for jibbing. It locks in and holds itself on a feature but has that added little bit of snap you want to pop out of it. Getting sideways the camber hugs the feature and you feel locked in.

Carving: Would I rail a deep hard aggressive Euro carve with this? No, but you can. It’s really designed for those short tight quick set up carves and medium park carves where you’re going around a feature. The transition from toe to heel is effortless and you feel it move with a nimbleness that says I have control.

Rider in Mind: Park rider that wants camber.

Personal Thoughts: I’m never let down with this board and the only reason I decided to ride it again was to refresh the review. I knew what I was going to get which was a consistent flexing park deck. It does what you need it to do.

Comparable Boards: Capita Indoor Survival, Interior Plain Project Harrow, Ride Kink
