The 2021 Kemper Flight Night Series Snowboard Review

By Angrysnowboarder @angrysnowboard · On March 4, 2021

Board: Kemper Flight Night Series

Size: 157

Camber Option: Rocker Camber. Camber under foot and reverse camber between the feet.

Bindings: Rome Black Label

Stance: 21.5 Wide 15 Negative 12 Goofy

Boots: K2 Thraxis Size 10

My Weight: 198lbs

Resort: Copper Mountain

Conditions: Bluebird skies, cold temps, zero wind, and pockets of deep snow.

Flex: The overall flex is middle of the road. What you get is a little softer tip then a stiffer mid section and a tail that’s just a hair stiffer than the nose. The torsional flex is abundant and you can really twist this board.

Stability: This board is moderately stable. You’ll have some chatter in the tips and you feel it a little under foot. In rutted out terrain this board doesn’t wash out or get bucked around.

Ollies: The camber profile makes this board easy to engage and you can pop with the most minimal of effort and get a good response. That tail has a optimal platform for popping off of. When you load this board up it snaps and you boost.

Pop On Jumps: This board is at home on jumps. It snaps off the lip and you boost. Small, medium, or even large jumps are not going to be an issue on this board.

Butterability: The tips have a very defined sweet spot that locks into presses and holds on but still has snap out of it. This boards camber profile helps it bend and flex to do whatever you want as well.

Jibbing: A little speed goes a long way with this board. Yes you can slow speed jib with it but speed is this boards friend. The nose and tail have an optimal sweet spot locks in well enough. Going sideways this board cradles the feature and does what it needs to do.

Carving: This board engages on edge smoothly and with minimal effort. With the camber profile on this board you can really center flex the board then drive off the tail which makes it loop through carves. On edge this board is smooth and effortless.

Rider in Mind: All mountain freestyle rider that wants a throwback shape and name under their feet.

Personal Thoughts: With this being part of the Kemper Night Series it’s stiffer and frankly this board isn’t that stiff. It’s a perfect blend of all mountain flex with its camber profile to ride it anywhere. The shape is unique and does a great job of plowing through powder. This board was actually really solid.

Comparable Boards: Dinosaurs Will Die Never Not, Gnu Antigravity, Bataleon Thunder
