Board: Capita Indoor Survival
Size: 154
Camber Option: Park V1 Profile. Traditional camber into a small flat section before the upkick.
Bindings: Rome Black Label
Stance: 21.5 Wide 15 Negative 12 Goofy
Boots: K2 Thraxis Size 10
My Weight: 200lbs
Resort: Copper Mountain
Conditions: Warm temps, mix of clouds and bluebird skies, zero wind, and firm fast snow.
Flex: By changing out the Titanal Struts to Fiberglass ones it makes the board a little softer especially in the tips. This brings the overall flex down to a true middle of the road. So you have softer tips, stiffer underfoot, then it gets softer between the feet. There’s a fair amount of torsional flex to it.
Stability: This boards a little loose in the tips and you get a bit of chatter at speeds in really firm snow that resonates back underfoot. In rutted out terrain this board bends with everything and doesn’t wash out but it will keep you on your toes.
Ollies: This board has a ton of snap. Those carbonfiber struts just rebound so much and snap amazingly. With this board having traditional camber you do have to load it a little bit to get it to pop. You can launch off everything no problem.
Pop On Jumps: This board is completely at home on jumps. It snaps off the lip and really boosts. If you like airtime you need to be considering this board.
Butterability: The tips have a nice sweet spot right where the camber meets the small flat section. This optimizes the platform for buttering and you can lock in and do whatever you want. There is a bunch of rebound in this board so you can pop out of any variation you do but it never fights you.
Jibbing: This board is at home on rails with moderate to fast speeds. You lock into nose and tail presses with ease and snap right out of them. Getting sideways this board hugs the feature and feels secure locking into a slide.
Carving: Nimbleness is the best way to describe the sidecut on this board. It rolls from edge to edge with zero effort and just drives through quick turns effortlessly. When you rail a hard turn it locks in and drives exceptionally well. The one down side is on ice it gets a little wonky and doesn’t grip so well, but that happens with countless other boards.
Rider in Mind: Camber loving park rider.
Personal Thoughts: So last years version was noticeably stiffer than this one and it was an OK board. Now that this has the Carbon Fiber Struts it changes everything! This board is more what it should be and it’s phenomenal. It’s playful where you want it, but you can still charge where you need to.
Comparable Boards: Yes Jackpot, Rome Agent, Marhar Darkside.

Loved the 2019 Capita Outsiders in the park. It felt good on big features. How does the 2020 indoor survival compare to the Capita Outsiders?
It’s pretty similar in terms of the ride with a slightly more mellow flex.
I’m looking to add a park/freestyle board to my quiver and I was between the 2021 indoor survival, ultra fear or doa. I’m looking for something to grab air and hit rails and kind of just be a dedicated board that would round out my quiver. I’m 5’11 and 190 lb. Current boards are 2019 Yes Typo 161 cm, 2020 Lib Tech Orca 153 cm and 2021 Capita Kazu Kokubo Pro 157 cm.
What would you recommend between those 3 capita boards?
DOA.
Thanks! Always love the reviews! What size would you recommend with a 10.5 boot?
55
Awesome! Thanks!
Tough call between this and DOA. Not sure what the main differences would be?
Flex, camber profile, sidecut, shape, and how they all work in conjunction.
What bindings would you recommend with this board
Union Force or Strata, Ride A or C 4, Now X Yes, Rome Vice.
