Board: Bataleon Disaster
Camber Option: Low camber with Jib 3BT
Bindings: Rome Black Labels
Stance: 21.5 Wide 15 Negative 12 Goofy
Boots: K2 Thraxis Size 10
My Weight: 200lbs
Resort: Copper Mountain
Conditions: Bluebird skies, warmer temps, zero wind, and perfect hero snow.
Flex: While this board is soft and lets not forget I’m definitely over the weight range it actually isn’t that soft. Yeah the nose and tail have some play to it and there’s a decent amount of torsional give to it. But the overall flex is just below a middle of the road.
Stability: Surprisingly for its size and what it is this board was actually rather stable in the softer snow. It pushed through everything with ease and while there was minor chatter in the tips it didn’t devolve into a death flap that made your knees and ankles hate you.
Ollies: The pop is there and it’s decent enough for the type of board this is. It’s very easy to engage which gives this board a skate like pop. You can boost off anything you want to with ease.
Pop On Jumps: This board is at home popping off a lip or snapping off a transition. It will get you up in the air and send you a little further than you think.
Butterability: Jib 3BT and Sidekick in a a softer flexing board of course it can butter. It’s a deck designed for getting your weight out over the tips and doing any kind of variation you want.
Jibbing: This board locks into presses and just holds super well. You feel very secure when doing either a nose or tail press. Getting sideways the camber profile hugs the feature and lets you just do what you need to do.
Carving: This board can hold an edge with ease and it transitions smoothly. Whether you’re doing a short quick turn or a long hard drawn out carve it’s got you. I wouldn’t go Euro-carving on it all the time but the odd one will get the job done from time to time.
Rider in Mind: Park guy that wants a well balanced slightly softer flexing board.
Personal Thoughts: This board was a blast to ride. It’s stable where it counts, it pops well, and it’s playful where you need it to be. If you like 3BT and want a fun park board this is really it.
Comparable Boards: Ride Kink, Telos Chillum, Rome Gang Plank.
