Board: Yes Jackpot
Camber Option: 2-4-2 Camrock. Camber under foot rocker in the tips.
Bindings: K2 Indy
Stance: 21.5 Wide 15 Negative 12 Goofy
Boots: K2 Thraxis Size 10
My Weight: 195lbs
Resort: Copper Mountain
Conditions: Mix of overcast skies, flat light, sun poking through, sometimes a cloud break, firm fast snow, firm deadly snow, ice, slush, and groomers.
Flex: This board has a middle of the road park flex to it. You have play in the tips that’s highly abundant and a slightly stiffer area under foot. There’s a lot of torsional flex to this and you can really drive and twist it from the center of the board.
Stability: This board has a wider platform which gives it a bit more stability. You will feel some chatter in the tips but not a lot. When you’re in variable terrain and chop it does a great job of driving through it without getting bucked around.
Ollies: The snap on this board is superb. You don’t have to aggressively load it up to get a nice amount of rebound from it. This makes sending cat track gaps, side hits, and rollers fun.
Pop On Jumps: This board has the perfect flex to pop ratio to amplify your jump game. It does a great job of boosting off lips. It’s perfectly at home hitting small to large-ish jumps.
Butterability: That wider platform and rocker in the tips gives you such a big platform to get on top of and butter around. You can really get your weight way out in the tips and just swivel and sizzle.
Jibbing: This board locks into rails with ease. There’s a little fight from the camber zone but not enough you can’t muscle through it with minimal effort. Getting sideways on a feature this board hugs it with ease and just feels secure.
Carving: Here’s where this board shines the most in my opinion. You can drive through a carve on this board and it just stays locked in. It feels like it wants to hold on for dear life and let you crush anything in your path. It’s easy to engage and even easier to load up the tail to push off of. Long drawn out carves or short tight quick ones, it’s got you covered.
Rider in Mind: Park guy that will crush the whole resort.
Personal Thoughts: I always forget how underrated the Jackpot truthfully is. It’s such a solid board and that wider platform just adds stability to it. You can ride this board across the whole mountain and not have any issues.
