Board: Telos Backslash
Camber Option: Full camber.
Bindings: K2 Indy
Stance: 21.5 Wide 15 Negative 12 Goofy
Boots: K2 Thraxis Size 10
My Weight: 195lbs
Resort: Copper Mountain
Conditions: 2 plus feet of snow had fallen over the previous 36 hours, there was a mix of overcast skies and pockets of sunshine, low wind, warmer temps, some humidity making the snow a bit heavier, and where they groomed it was perfect corduroy.
Flex: This board has a directional flex meaning softer nose into a stiffer tail. There’s a lot of torsional flex to it which makes it very playful. Overall it’s just below a middle of the road flex for a volume shifted powder deck.
Stability: The nose gets the most chatter in this board but it doesn’t resonate back under foot. The fact that it’s volume shifted definitely helps this board have more stability than you would think for a 148. It can get bucked around in chunder but that’s more due to its size than anything.
Ollies/Pop: The camber profile is really easy to load up and this board has snap. It’s so easy to pop with it that you don’t even know you’re doing it.
Butterability: That nose is amazing for buttering on. You can get way out over the tip and it will lock in and hold. It’s just a blast to butter with.
Carving: This board is so much fun to carve on. I can’t stress that enough. You can load up the camber profile and push off the tail and it will slingshot out of turns with ease. It just rips from edge to edge and holds on for long drawn out carves or tight quick ones.
Rider in Mind: Powder chasing resort rider that likes to carve.
Personal Thoughts: I love this board. Can’t stress that enough, it was a hidden gem in 2019 when I reviewed it, and it’s still a gem today as more people are finding out how great it is. This year I was finally able to get it into real deep snow and it did not disappoint. It slashed with the best of them and it floats effortlessly. It’s great in trees with how nimble it is. Buy one, you won’t be disappointed.
