Board: Ride Superpig
Camber Option: Directional Hybrid Camber. A directional cam rocker.
Bindings: K2 Indy
Stance: 21.5 Wide 15 Negative 12 Goofy
Boots: K2 Thraxis Size 10
My Weight: 195lbs
Resort: Arapahoe Basin
Conditions: Overcast skies, snow falling, warmer temps, chunder pow, perfect groomers, and some wind.
Flex: This board has a middle of the road directional all mountain flex. So there is a slightly softer nose that tapers back into being a stiffer tail. There’s a moderate amount of torsional flex which makes this board playful.
Stability: That wider platform coupled with the carbon array and camber profile really make for a stable ride. Yeah you do feel some chatter when you hit death chunder at full speed, but on a groomer or in soft pow it doesn’t have a lot of vibrations.
Ollies: HOLY SHIT! Years and years ago the Ride DH2 came out and had pop. This board feels like that. You can load it up and it will snap and not just a little amount I mean you’re boosting to the moon. Yeah it takes a little work, but it’s not going to hurt you. Sidehits, cat track gaps, natural hips, etc. etc. become launch ramps.
Pop On Jumps: Just haul in and pop off the lip and send it. This board boosts. Don’t hesitate hitting a jump of any size.
Butterability: That nose is amazing for locking into a butter. It just presses in and holds on so well. There’s a little fight to it, but not a lot. The tail takes more effort due to the flex pattern so be prepared to work for it.
Jibbing: Oh this board jibs. You have such a stable platform with the wider shape. The nose will press easier than the tail due to the rocker in it, but the tail holds a press well too. Getting sideways the camber profile will hug it.
Carving: Want to rip a hard carve? Yeah, go for it! Want to do a short mellow carve? Yeah you’re golden. This board drives through turns and you can push off the tail to really accentuate your carves. There’s enough torsional flex in this board to really snap a carve however you want.
Rider in Mind: All mountain freestyle guy that wants to downsize.
Personal Thoughts: If the MTN Pig is too aggressive and the Warpig is too soft, this board fits right between them and leaves the Twin Pig to do its own thing. This board is so much fun to ride and I didn’t want to get off it. If you get a chance to hop on one, do it. JUST DO IT!
