Board: K2 Broadcast
Size: 159
Camber Option: Directional camber baseline. Traditional camber that’s slightly set back.
Bindings: K2 Indy
Stance: 21.5 Wide 15 Negative 12 Goofy
Boots: K2 Thraxis Size 10
My Weight: 195lbs.
Resort: Arapahoe Basin
Conditions: Warm temps, bluebird skies, zero wind, and not too firm and not too slushy snow.
Flex: This board definitely comes in at being a bit on the stiffer side. Bordering almost on a freeride flex vs an all mountain one. You get a little more play in the nose but not by much, then a slightly stiffer mid section and tail. There’s a little torsional flex but not a lot.
Stability: Small vibrations resonate through this board but the bigger ones seem to dissipate. You have a board that’s designed for charging and not getting bucked around.
Ollies: There’s snap in this board, but it’s camber so what did you expect? You have to load it up and there will be substantial rebound from it. Be prepared to be a bit calculated with how you pop with this thing.
Pop On Jumps: It’s got you covered. Small to large this board’s going to handle it all with ease. Its snap is only amplified when you pop off the lip.
Butterability: It takes a bit more work to lock in the sweet spot on this board and you’ll feel the rebound and fight from it. This is a board that makes you work for it and you will work for it. Trust me.
Jibbing: Speed is your friend with this board. The faster you go and the harder you press the better your jibbing will be. The flex isn’t super conducive to letting this board be one of those screw around jib sticks.
Carving: Here’s where this board shines. It’s not quick and nimble edge to edge instead it’s more precise and calculating. It transitions smoothly in a fluid motion but it’s not fast. You’ll notice right away that when it’s on edge you can drive into a more swoopy like carve that lets you cut from one side of the trail to the other. There’s some serious power off the tail when you load it up and it will slingshot you out of the turn.
Rider in Mind: Someone that wants an assertive all mountain board that borders on being a freeride stick.
Personal Thoughts: I figured this was going to be more all mountain but holy shit this thing feels like a freeride stick in disguise. It’s an assertive board that drives hard and has a lot of power in it. You’ll notice right away this isn’t something for being lazy with, you have to bring your A game most of the time.

I notice half the k2 team is on this board and formulas. Is basic shit a trend? Possible podcast topic? The graphic is so bad it seems like they did it on purpose
Can of spraypaint and some stickers fixes any graphic.
Hello
Is it better than raygun ( flat camber ) for all mountain ?
It’s beefier.
Is this board more playful than the manifest or vice versa?
A little bit more playful.
@Angrysnowboarder I need your advice 🙂
Im 6 Feet, 2.4094 Inches (189 CM)
194 lbs (88 kg)
Foot size US 11 (EU 44,5) Burton BOA Ruler
Rider style – all mountain/freeride
My question, which board size would be best?
158W – 159 (regular) – 163W ?
Thanks in advance
58/59 for more playful riding and hitting the park, 63 for more hard charging.
Raygun Pop vs Broadcast for All-mtn/carving?
Broadcast.
Would it make sense to have this board as a compliment to the Yes the Y? Or is there too much overlap?
Nope, you’re fine.
Nope there’s no overlap or nope it doesn’t make sense to have this board?
Also, would you recommend k2 broadcast or the Yes Standard for a do-it-all-but-jib board?
Either would work.
I just bought this board and this review is very accurate. This this is hard AF to turn compared to my Nitro Team. Once you get a good line it is planted and super stable over rough ice, hard snow. I had no idea they made boards this stable.
Angry Snowboarder, can you recommend boots for this board? I have old Nitro Avenger boots but they feel off on this board.
Best boots are the ones that fit your foot and fits your needs.
Just got this board.. what bindings would you recommend?
K2 Formula, Ride C or A 8, Union Atlas, Jones IPO or Brigade, Burton Cartel, Bent Metal Transfers.
5’9 165 what size board you think?
Mid 150’s.
You think 153 will work for 5’9 165lbs???
It’ll work.
My father is an intermediate rider who has very small feet (Size 7.5-8) and 180 lbs, would the 153 Broadcast work as a more playful ride or would it be too small?
Or do you recommend other boards with a rather narrow waist that could be used as a resort stick? (Wouldnt be bad if it could handle occasional pow)
Check out the Capita Outerspace Living in 155.
Thanks for the fast reply!
Could get a really good deal on the 2018 158cm flow solitude. Could it work as a groomer/pow board for him or would it be too much to handle? (he isnt much of a charger)
That board is real aggressive.
Hi, I am 181cm and 76kg (167 lbs) which size of k2 broadcast should I choose for charging and jumps/bc. Thank you
57.
Sorry but little bit confused. Do you mean 156 because there is not 157 size?
Broadcast sizes:153,156,158W,159,162,163W
Sure.
Hello Angrysnowbarder,
I am a little in-between with this one and the Yes Jackpot. Even though they seem pretty different from how you picture them, I want a nice do-it all which will go all the way through the next few seasons.
I am 5.8″ and can get a good deal on a 153 Broadcast or 156 Jackpot, which one would you recommend?
Cheers
No clue why you’re giving me your height since your weight is what matters.
130 lbs here, thanks
Get the Broadcast in the 53.
Hi there! Thank you for your reviews!
Is it make sense to get Yes PYL instead/additionally to k2 broadcast
because of deep powder days or there is no much difference?
I’m 175lbs and 6′ if it helps) broadcast 158w, pyl probably 162.
Much appreciated!
