Board: Capita Black Snowboard of Death
Size: 158
Camber Option: Alpine V1. Rocker in the front, then camber, followed by a flat section, and finally more rocker in the tail.
Bindings: K2 Indy
Stance: 21.5 Wide 15 Negative 12 Goofy
Boots: K2 Thraxis Size 10
My Weight: 195lbs
Resort: Arapahoe Basin
Conditions: Grey skies, moderate visibility, colder temps, wind picking up as a storm rolled in causing it to puke heavy snow, and a couple inches of fresh on top of frozen chunder.
Flex: This board is so damn stiff. I mean it’s a total freeride board. The board is a little softer in the nose through the front insert pack to the middle then it has a flex point that just drastically stiffens up to the end of the tail. There’s a little torsional flex but nothing noteworthy.
Stability: This board is super stable. Riding through chunder, ice, and the crap spring conditions it just plowed through or went over everything in its path and I rarely felt any chatter. This was a board that did not get knocked around in any variable terrain.
Ollies/Pop: It takes so much effort to load this board and get any snap. Pretty much all the pop comes from the back foot of the rider. I tried to engage it, I tried to snap with it, it just didn’t happen.
Butterability: I gave up on it. That’s all you need to know.
Carving: So here’s the thing about this board, it’s got great edge hold. In the icy frozen crap it never washed out on me. When engaging the board it’s a bit slower to initiate than other boards but it lays in harder with more power. Short quick turns and long drawn out ones are its strong suit. Doing hard deep carves you have to put in so much effort to drive this board which isn’t a bad thing. You’ll notice right away that this board has a lot of power off the tail.
Rider in Mind: Someone that wants an aggressive board to go all over with.
Personal Thoughts: I still have no clue how you can claim this board is a go anywhere do anything deck, it’s not. It’s a freeride board first and foremost. Yeah it slashes snow decently enough and it has awesome edge hold, but I wouldn’t take it in the park. It’s a board that’s not for the feint of heart. You need to bring your a game with this board.

Helpful review thanks mate!
Is it wise to have both Mercury 157 cm and BSOD 159 cm in the quiver (+ Asymulator 156 cm)?
Or maybe it is better to switch Asymulator from 156 to 154 cm (~175/180 lbs)?
I hope you get a chance to ride the 2021 revamped model!
Oh yeah we did.
GNU gremlin, 2020 BSOD or order a yes PYL online for a 5ft 10 220 10.5 ride crystal, Stevens and mt baker some back country mostly advanced resort
All of the above.
Thanks man. Is the billy goat a step above the gremlin or just a different type of board
Really a different type of board.
