So Gangster It Hurts!
Stereotypes have always plagued the snowboarding culture. For some reason it’s believed we were uneducated, slack jawed, thug, pot smoking, vagrants that are a blight to society. Now sure as our culture has grown and aged we’ve become more mature, but we still constantly have to deal with the throw backs. Even worse is that these people end up working in the snowboard industry and representing what snowboarding is about to the general masses. While a lot has changed some things never will.
Case in point is Dirty D from Tyrant Snowboards.
Seriously would you want this guy representing snowboarding let alone your company? Hey I have an idea lets do the whitest thing possible, lets go snowboarding. Oh wait snowboarding is so thug cause people from the suburbs that can pay 50 plus dollars a day to slide down hill on pieces of plastic that cost in excess of $300 dollars is thug life.
Why can’t more people put dumbasses like this in check? To quote a friend “I was really hoping for a 42nd trimester abortion when I saw this!” But were we lucky enough to have that happen? Fuck no, now we have to deal with this guy cupping the balls of a 6th tier snowboard brand. Yes that’s right this brand didn’t use due diligence when picking their spokesmen and now has been delegated to the likes of Bitch Boards, Manic Bindings, and whatever crappy product can crawl from the cess pool of snowboard shit.

who cares?
[...] D. You are laden with toolness, and more people will know about it… The Angry Snowboarder Blog Archive So Gangster It Hurts! Hope you have a well prepared CV, you could possibly be out of a job. Nah wa I meannnn brah? [...]
I’m going to guess you do since you left a comment.
Wow, hope these guys have day jobs, that sales pitch sucked. Yo Yo Yo, these are the illist boards…..uhmm they have a screen printed base. Nice sales pitch, where can I buy hundreds of them?
Apparently according to “Angry” my image represents;
“uneducated, slack jawed, thug, pot smoking, vagrants that are a blight to society.”
and some how Snowboarding is
“the whitest thing possible” – I always assumed it was an international sport that represented a diverse group of people that have very different tastes and preferences.
“cause people from the suburbs that can pay 50 plus dollars a day to slide down hill on pieces of plastic that cost in excess of $300 dollars is thug life.”
Most dedicated snowboarders I have known over my lifetime have done whatever it takes to live the snowboard lifestyle; working endless hours at corporate ski resorts as janitors, parking attendants, ice chippers, gas stations attendants, taxi cab drivers just to have the chance to snowboard on a regular basis so that maybe then can progress their skills over the seasons, avoid injury and if they can film a breakout part or win some insane contest they can come-up and get put on and maybe just maybe; do what they love for a living.
If your lucky enough to come from the background where you can buy a new set-up every year, or pay for $50+ a day tickets; count your blessings. Cuz most of my friends couldnt afford that, we packed people in small cabins by the case load, slept in cars, clipped tickets, collected recycling, sold broken down gear and other personal items until we saved and scraped every cent to get a pass/new gear/ for the winter.
I may not “REPRESENT” what you think is a typical “Snowboarder” or have I ever claimed to; I believe strongly that everyone in this world is different and its through these differences we can learn the world around us.
I cannot apologize for who I am; have become or will continue to be. I will always live my life to fullest and take every opportunity to spread the ideals and companies I believe in.
What the do you think a haters job is? To hate. So I really dont know why im typing….. If there’s any other haters in here right now that don’t have nobody else to hate on, feel free to hate on me.
To everyone else living there life not afraid to break down social stereotypes and be yourself. One Love!
“Be the Change you want to see in the world”
Shouldn’t you be on The Block Season 3? Oh wait that got cancelled much like your sales career should be. You say, “be the change you want to see in the world”. The only way things are going to change is if people like me call out the stupidity of people like you. Take it or leave it but you’re a joke, you made your brand look like a joke, and you’re going to have to deal with that. On a plus side lap up your 15 minutes of fame cause you just had your break out video part!
Angry. I aint mad at you. Do you need a hug?
Its obvious you sit behind your website all day and hate on the “Davids” of the world, while suck the “Goliaths” dicks. Why dont you have any pics or vids up of yourself?
Go Break another Board in half by kickin it, since you “value” Snowboards so much can obviously afford to buy as many “pieces of plastic that cost in excess of $300 dollars a piece” as you like with the revenue your raking of your website and editorial career.
Aww is the little guy still upset that he’s been getting called out? Maybe if you would learn to think before you speak you wouldn’t be in this predicament you fucking mouth breather.
Dirty D, How can you ask for “serious riders only” if you cant give a serious presentation of your product. Why are your boards so good for park, what technology are you putting into them. With all the latest and greatest out now I think kids would like to know if they’re on camber or reverse camber. What kind of base are you putting on your decks?? Extruded or sintered 4000 or 8000. How about your edges are they full wrap or do they cut of at the tip like mervin? What kind of core do you put in the boards. I see you flex the decks in this video but frankly that doesn’t tell you shit about the board. These are the points that all the “serious riders” I know look for when buying a new deck. You might look at selling the features of a board a little more then the graphic next time your at the trade show.
I think the problem is not much of your sales pitch, its more of the gansta shit your tying to be.coming from someone who actually lives in the iner-city and see’s crime and stupidity on a daily basis. I for one find it offensive…dude your white, and please don’t tell me how many iner-city friends you have or how you’ve spent time in da block…looking for a dime bag to buy doesn’t count. Your still white, so please stop preping the role, its not a good look.
Dirty D it’s pretty simple. When you are talking about your company’s products don’t:
- Use “gangster” slang, because no I don’t “na whatchoo sayin”.
- Tell us to “cop” every model, how am I going to buy every snowboard Tyrant makes?
- Talk about graphics, or tell us to look at the badass screen printed base (it’s called a base not a bottom). Yah, that’s real innovation right there.
- Tell us your deck has a great design, is one of the dopest boards on the market, or is the freshest and illest…
Do feel free to tell us what your company brings to the table that all of the others don’t (ie technology, materials, etc.)
Snowboarding just doesn’t need another plain-jane company selling the same old shit with “extra-fresh” graphics to fit a wannabe-thug lifestyle–and that’s what you have presented Tyrant Snowboards to be.
Eh, int he grand scheme these tools will be out of business within two years.
Dear Dirty D,
What’s you’re take on ghetto gowns? Just wondering…..
goliath dick haha thats good
snwbrdng is srs bzns
lighten the fuck up, people
When you are trying to make a living in the industry like Dirty D, it is. You can be and do whatever you want on hill, but when you are trying to sell people on product it’s time to get a little serious…just a little bit.
is the way you speak really indicative of a being a “Thug” or “Gangsta”. I mean seriously; if everyone “walked and talked” the same this would be a pretty boring world.
So let me get this straight because I am not from the “inner-city” I am not allowed to use slang words because they are not derived from the “suburbs”? I really do not understand the logic in that.
@ Lou G and Zach. I can respect what you are saying. More technical information can be very vital to informed buyers; I will take this into consideration in the future.
@ Angry – “I aint mad at ya” — “if i were you i’d hate me too” —- You Mouth Breather — LoL
You know Dustin you’re really digging yourself a grave here and I’m not above really roasting you. Keep on going with this and you’re not going to like the next 2 posts I have lined up and I’ll fucking destroy you.
It’s not about whether you are ‘gangster’ or ‘thug’, it’s about being professional when push comes to shove. That’s why your getting roasted, for being unprofessional and making the company you represent, and your self secondly, look like a bunch of ass bags.
you want thug? anytime anywhere. sack up, and send me an invitation. you can bet your fat ass i’ll use “due dilligence” in taking care of this problem. we’ll handle your bitchy attitude real f*cking quick. Weve been in this industry for 6 years and were not going anywhere, EVER so get used seeing us in the snowboarding community turnin heads. i would love to see your next 2 posts bitch, lets see your “destruction” You sound like the biggest f*cking geek in the world. and why is snowboarding the whitest sport around? you ignorant racist f*cking pig. i bet your about 5’5, 300lbs, and definately not getting annnyyy pussy. im right? whats your name? i bet i know you personally…which would mean your a fake f*cking loser who PROBABLY doesnt ride at all. any real snowboarder sure as f*ck wouldnt be runnin their mouth about that gangster shit that we rep with pride. Thats our style, ride or die and f*ck what you heard cause until you hear it from us, your just another broke ass jealous cock sucking paper pushin f*cking fag. and yes, that is the guy i want reppin my company, he obviously gets our point across to the real riders buying our boards.
Professionally, isnt that all that matters…..?
P.S. its CESSPOOL not cease pool. retard. and if its snowboard SHIT, then why are you talking about it? i could go on all day rippin your ass apart. go f*ck yourself ass jockey. i’ll reiterate this for the angry douche, i will meet you ANYWHERE face to face.
Hate on haters, we eat this shit up. infamy is still fame Tyrant fo life!!!!!!
Hahaha well this response won’t help move inventory. Hilarious. I wonder how gangster these fools would be when the pop doesn’t come from an ollie. LMAO Chances of seeing your homie’s brains on the slopes are pretty slim from gangster shit. Until you’ve seen the caps fly don’t fucking say shit about what you don’t know. Fucking poseurs. It ain’t so glam.
@The owner. If you’ve been around for 6 years then why in all the years I’ve been snowboarding and working on snowboards, have I never once heard of your company or seen your boards on the hill?
Wow, Dirty D is a tool.
I think I figured out what ‘serious rider means’. Its that guy you see in the park that can do a 270 frontside board to pretzel out but can’t make a turn to save his life.
@zack… haha seriously, i’ve never heard of these guys until now either. i can completely see why this guy wants the dirty reppin his company… believe it or not, i think the dirty is a more respectable and professional person than this owner guy. i for one, will never buy one of these boards from “tyrant” and i’ll never recommend anyone get them or sell one of them if they somehow ever happen to come my way.
also, to the “owner” any real snowboarder would have respect for themselves and not deal with your “gangster shit” that you “rep with pride”. as for the “whitest sport around”… yea, i’d bet if you look at the whole of people who ride skis or snowboards or snowblades (anything like that) they’ll be from more well off families who can afford all of this equipment and everything else that takes money to participate in these sports. I can definitely say that snowsports are not dominated by inner city kids from (insert ghetto neighbourhood here), and by no means am i racist, but have a look at the diversity on the hills. Around my area it’s becoming a little bit more diverse, but it’s still very easy to see who the majority of people are on the hills.
Gotta love internet tough guys!!!! Also, his use of the English language is remarkable. I’m sure he learned to speak that way in middle-class white suburbia. Your brand is a joke at best. As for being “in this industry for 6 years and were not going anywhere,” you couldn’t be more correct, you are in fact going nowhere, as in a big fail of a company. You may have some ‘homies’ that ride your product, but i have never even heard of your brand until i was walking around SIA this year and saw your booth, but then i proceeded to laugh my ass at it while i walked away and went and looked at real company’s products.
I will say if you want to settle it via fisticuffs then let’s plan on SIA 2011, but then again the chances of your company surviving until then is probably pretty slim, especially after this little episode. But then again, we’ll be too busy meeting with real companies that have a legitimate hold in this business and that people respect.
Jimster, I think you’re the one that doesn’t know what the fuck you’re talking about. In your sheltered fucking world, you might get away talking like that. If we ever met face to face, you’d be the one with his fucking brains spillin out. How do you know where we come from? I’d think about that first with anyone you encounter. It’s kind of an important life lesson, knowing when to shut your ignorant mouth. When you grow up and catch yourself a good old fasioned man ass beatin, you might change your tune a little.
And Zack thats awesome you’ve started riding over the last 6 years. This industry you speak of has been around for over 30 years at this point. And these well known brands, for which Tyrant Snowboards has the up most respect, were the forefathers of the sport we thug for today. Nothing BUT respect is due. These companies have been around a long time and have put in alot of hard work to get the recognition they have today. Thats why we started building our own snowboards, not just slapping some graphics on some chinese shit that so many of these so called “1st tier snowboard companies” have started doing. This shit takes time and intense dedication. I dont see you guys starting with next to nothing, building great snowboards with no more than snowboard techshop experience and staying around for six years in this economy? Back off the people trying to make their lives all about snowboarding and go enlighten yourself with something you truly love.I apologize to all for not getting the proper information on our boards. But I thank everyone for this uproar, since traffic on our website has increased 20% more this july than the same month in years previous. So at least the people are still getting the real story for Tyrant Snowboards.
Oh, wow. Tyrant is officially bagged and tagged. I’m speechless… I mean, maybe you should hand the company reigns over to Dirty D, he handled things much more professionally and he was the one under attack. But Dirty D can’t do anything to save you now.
In resorting to empty threats of violence, rather than outlining say the strengths of your company and your product, you’ve proven to the world that Tyrant has nothing to offer snowboarding.
What is this comment, “i bet i know you personally…which would mean your a fake f*cking loser who PROBABLY doesnt ride at all.” Does that mean you only know fake fucking losers who don’t ride? I don’t get it. And Attacking minor spelling mistakes? Hahaha, really mature.
Anybody who reads this now knows that Tyrant snowboards, regardless of how their product rides, is run by kindergartners. Who in their right mind is going to support your company or your riding habit after such a huge display of childishness? Really?
Well, I’m off to spread the word on a company (or soon to be ex-company) run by jackasses… you can bet everyone who reads this will do the same; we real snowboarders don’t want your shitty attitude on our slopes!
Bitchass punk motherfucker. Bring your ass out here to socal and find out how asians do it.
Please put up a like button so I can like the shit out of this post.
Owner, here ya go. This is what I think of when I see you and your hard-talk’n bitch posting up in here.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qEIki7rcKBQ
why do you industry guys care? thats just how they are. and im pretty sure theres not just 1 owner of tyrant. and this post doesnt sound like any of them…kinda weeeird.
Avran and Kevin – Your petty remarks are antithesis of what you are opposing. I never made any remarks about your family or about your personal character. I truely believe that everyone is entitled to be themselves; whether I Talk with street slang or am typing term papers; its all unrelative to the facts at hand.
Tyrant makes snowboards. We ride Snowboards. We support our local riders and community. Sponsor events, Donate decks, help our riders with travel and entry fees, build features, snowboard in the summer, travel long distances just to ride and spread the love we have for snowboarding to our community.
Its more than a “snowboard team” we are a group of friends, living our lives, they way we want to do it, empowering ourselves, riding our own boards, shaping, changing adjusting the differences with our own hands in our own factory.
If you choose to label us “GANGSTA” or “THUG” just because we are from a younger generation and we do not have the same speech, dress, or music preferences. By all means get your jollies and kicks; but it just makes you look like the dicks you are. How does a specific “image” really change the enjoyment we get from busting a powder turn, droppin a cliff, lappin the park or even just cruisin the groomers. It doesn’t.
For all intensive purposes snowboards have 1 purpose; to be used abused and ridden til its death. We could be all overly worried about camber differences. Truthfully we could jibber jabber all day and could have came out with the “Squash” or “Cucumber” reverse styles but we didn’t. Will we experiment with it in the future? Maybe? If the demand comes down to it and our riders really want to rock it.
“The awesome thing about the Internet is anyone with 10 bucks can register a domain name.”
Hide behind your laptop I am quite positive your severe paranoia of meeting people in public coupled with your disdain for up and comers rising up without kickin you down, just because you write a snowboard blog. Its obvious you have plenty of personal issues to work out inside of yourself.
Alas I have grown tiresome of your verbal lashings and continuous hate. Avran Go write 70+ more reviews about Solomon, K2 or whoever’s dick you are currently sucking.
I give these guys credit for doing what theyre doing. Going against all odds. I could easily form opinions here but honestly the only real problem which can easily be remedied is the lack of technical detail on the products. His manner of speaking and message delivery could easily be overlooked with a few more details about design specs… what is in the board, etc. So he would still have this gangsta image or whatever but the industry wouldnt care if you tell them what they want to hear, hint hint.
You have to pretend the customer just put down a k2 or burton board, oh shit so now what? Why should i buy your board instead?
And at every booth there is always gonna be some bullshit or misinformed or undereducated tech speak… get your hands dirty and read and learn and test and compare and do whatever you can to know the tech, be able to improve the tech, and come up with your niche. If you got a shop guy that knows it better then have him or her available to answer the tough stuff.
And the internet is full of haters…. best to just shrug it off with hopes the hate blows over. If the product is solid it should speak for itself.
I also think the worst thing you can do is listen to anything further other than adding more tech info and doing your best to really show how these boards will perform. If you decide to change whatever image because a bunch of web folks hated on it, then it shows you are flip flopping and only care about image and sales.
But if you try to fight hate with hate its gonna hurt everyone.
Fuck the nay sayers and step back, put your boards out in front of you and let the boards do the talking. I commend the efforts.
Any way i can get more specs and more visual stuff? It would be neat to show the process etc.
Who the fuck is Kevin?
Anyways, i find it mildly humorous that you go from “talking” thug and gangster to trying to speak like an educated person (which actually seems to be the case based on your more recent post). Why the change in persona?
Look, no one was trying to bring you down for your attempt at doing what your doing. We respect the fact you are trying to do it. With that said the image you are trying to portray is what we find laughable, especially with this video of Dirty D (honestly, who can call themselves that and take themselves seriously, let alone be taken seriously by others). All we’re trying to get across is to be taken seriously in ANY business you must be professional. That doesn’t mean you can’t be who you want to be, but at times you have to know when to tone it back and talk business. By doing things the way you are doing them now you are limiting yourself to those who only “get” what you are saying, which is a very small part of the snowboarding population, which in turn could be your downfall. If you make your company more appealing to everyone then you are going to turn more product and therefore, hopefully for your sake, turn a larger profit, or at the very least continue to do what you been doing.
Dirty D, I have to nitpick this because it drives me out of my god dammed mind insane.
It’s “For all intents and purposes” not “intensive purposes”. That phrase makes no sense at all in the English language. Quit it!
On to the serious part. Yes you talk like a Midwest white bread suburbanite tool. If that’s really your style then rock on and be you. It shouldn’t matter what others think if that’s who you are. People are going to poke fun yeah but why do you care if you’re just being you?
IF it’s the persona you put on to pitch some boards, then you need to slap yourself with a cheese grater. Your style is forgivable if you put out a solid pitch and can give the world some details on the product. However, you spent your time talking about the graphics. The god damn graphics dude! No one really gives a flying pigeon shit what graphic has been slapped on their board. Hell most of the time it’s going to get covered in 97 layers of stickers. If I paint flames on my board, it’s not going to go faster. Learn the product, give me some details and tell me why I should be riding it and not a NeverSummer. That’s how you rep a product. I will give you credit though, it looks like you’ve taken some of these comments to heart. I hope you keep it up.
As for your boss Ronnie, wow dude. Others have said it but I feel a need to repeat it. You’re the owner of the company. You’re supposed to be moving your product forward. Improving sales, growing your brand and making sure your employees keep a job. Coming here and going on a roid fueled rant threatening violence for anyone calling you out is as dumb as it gets. You’ve gone full retard my friend. You talk about how your traffic has gone up 20% since this began and clearly you attribute the increase to this site. Being a short tempered fool with no sense what so ever is going to help you sell product how again? You’re 20% of new visitors are reading ALL of this. Is that the kind of PR you really want? Really?
But I’m sure none of this is going to get through to you. You’ll follow your normal mantra and tell me how you’re going to come kick my ass and spill my brains. However I’ll actually be in Vegas soon competing at the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Championship so that’s probably not a good idea.
I am not a snowboarder. I have been on the slopes a few times, but I have NO talent in it and I know that. That being said, I have to agree that the owner’s responses are ridiculous and immature, and that this company is garbage.
Dirty D – You handled yourself fairly well here, and that kind of humility goes a long way. If you left Tyrant, you might be able to save face and get a job with a reputable company. Staying would probably be career suicide, and I know you don’t want to go back to 7-11 night shift… nobody ever does.
Owner – You are not ready to run your own business, obviously, and since you are calling out grammar mistakes; the phrase is “utmost” respect, not “up most”. You are a moron and need to go to college. I say this out of love – you need to hear it. You can tell how you’re going to kill me now.
Gotta love how “The Owner TS” blazes into Angry for being allegedly “racist” by calling snowboarding the whitest sport in the world (which it pretty much is) and then launches in to an all-out, no-holds-barred misogynistic and virulently homophobic rant, culminating in the uber-win of “I am mad at you on the internet so I will offer to fight you in real life”
Someone call the fucking Waaaaaaambulance, please. Get this joker a ride home.
HAHAHAHAHA AMAZING. This is some of the best stuff I’ve seen for awhile. Good work calling this joke of a sales pitch out. Good work Tyrant for sticking around for 6 years, how pissed are your parents that you are using up your trust fund? Continue believing that you will be around for many years and pretending that you are an actual business owner…I look forward to your money running out and your business finally dying. Keep it gangster son…keep it gangster!
Owner : I will kick your puny ass you homo.
Hey Ronnie (Owner – TS), Do Andrew and the rest of your guys back your shitty business practices?
Well… That was a very entertaining read. In my opinion, I don’t care about the “gangster” style. If you board you board. It doesn’t matter what you wear. Just get out and shred. I think hate based on appearances is ridiculous. I judged Dirty D on the video but my respect for him increased after reading what he had to say. So maybe he’s a “ghetto ass thug”. I’d still hang out with him. He seems like he’s a good guy with just a bad image. He took the criticisms given and maturely responded to them. All of the excess hate that’s coming now is fueled by “Ronnie”. If anything is ruining Tyrant’s image it’s Ronnie’s quick resort to violence, threats, and profanity. Without Ronnie’s additions to this thread the hate would have been over a long time ago. Dirty D pretty much had the situation contained before Ronnie came in and annihilated it. Instead of hating on Tyrant though, maybe the criticism should be directed to Ronnie personally. It seems like he is the one with the problem and there are probably other people behind Tyrant who aren’t so unprofessional. I’d agree with “Not even a rider” and recommend that Dirty D cuts ties with Tyrant because he individually still has a chance to save face. Dirty D, I’m not saying you have to change anything about yourself, but you don’t want your image to be marked by the likes of Ronnie or anyone else so unprofessional.
[...] started like this: The Angry Snowboarder ragged on what he considered bad marketing. Some reps from Tyrant Snowboards responded in the comments there [...]
Thanks Jenise. To be fair, The tech info IS actually written @ tyrantsnowboards.com… not that it helped at SIA. [and Ronnie, "the owner", is still a massive tool.]
Dirty D, you can even see yourself slipping out of your fake thug accent midway through the video. Be true to yourself and don’t try to sell your product on a fake image. I’d respect the brand a lot more if you didn’t try to pull of the fake thug image.
That said, I respect the fact that you’re getting out there and putting in work. It’s gotta be done for any company, and snowboards are no exception. You might wanna keep “The Owner” in line though… I don’t think people like that help you sell anything.
The increased traffic to your is all generated by this bad PR… that probably isn’t helping anything either. I stumbled across this whole thread because of posts on other snowboard sites and forums. They are not looking too kindly on the words of “The Owner”
wow soo much hate, but i guess that’s what gets publicity this is high school drama snowboarding is snowboarding its fun just relax let everyone do their own thing can’t we all just be hated on by society like in the older days had to add my 2 cents
This page is hilarious, with all this publicity I feel Tyrant sales just might exceed double digits next season but let’s not get ahead of ourselves.
Oh yea, and I live in Tahoe and work at a mountain…. I’ve never heard anybody mention your company.
Maybe I will now though…?
[...] Angry Snowboarder takes offense at Tyrant’s sales banter (the post that kicked it all off is here), while down under things are warming up for the NZ Open. Like Ziggy, it seems that Chanelle [...]
I’ve been riding for years, and I have to say that the snow is my life. Nothing makes me happier then to strap on my board, slap in some music and go ride. When did it become such a hate fest?! The only that could make me angry when I’m riding is when I don’t land a trick. I’m not there sitting and thinking ” well if I just would have bought that other board with reverse camber, or the slimes walls, or serrated edges..ect then I would have been able to land that.” NO. We adapt to what we have. Half the technology that goes into snowboard is way over the consumers head anyways. My teen kid isn’t really going to care about all the advanced specs. (Maybe that’s why Dirty D made is “simpler” because that’s who he is marketing to….kids) Could they have made another video going into advance detail..I’m sure, but ripping on him for not marketing to the “serious buyer” is really a waste of time. 85% of THE CONSUMERS are kids..give him a break.
Calling snowboarding a white sport is outright ignorant….no point going into it.
Given the right demographic all these kids need are bindings and a board. They have adapted to it being an expensive sport. Googles are substituted for cheapy sunglass, snow pants sub-ed for just plain jeans, and gloves sub-ed for mittens… My parents never shell out a dime for any of my gear or lift passes. I knew the expense and worked my butt off for that day where all I had to worry about was not breaking a wrist.
How do any of you even know that that is actually the own of Tyrant Snowboards ( how do we know it isn’t) …bottom line… WE DON’T?! So for you guys to automatically assume who was typing all that nonsense is this ronnie guy or any other owner (there’s not just ONE owner) is pretty sad. You just made a snap judgment on some crap that anyone could have written to get the fire rolling. If it is one of the owners then shame on you. Have some tact man. You can really expect everyone to love what you make because you do.. There are always going to be haters out there..such is life. Let the board speak for itself. I bought one a year ago and love it so far. It was a good price for what I got.
I think a lot of you have lost the idea that snowboarding was brought up on. The biggest problem back in the day was even trying to get this new crazy sport into the industry. Its not as serious as you all make it to be. From the business aspect, yes; but the fun factor..no. The industry doesn’t even care about these little companies anyways…so why should you be so focused on trying to crush them. If they make it great, I’m sure they will find this discussion somewhat useful for their future productions. If they don’t..then its too bad, because it seem like they were just doing something they loved.
One love <3
It’s called an IP address amazing how much information is associated to that. Everything else you said you should probably fact check on things. Like I said before I just write what everyone else is thinking.
Hey, just to say I live in Japan and the sport of snowboarding here and in South Korea is not white. Just cos stuff is the way it is in the US doesn’t make it true everywhere.
As far as the salespitch by Dirty D went, I thought it was OK, he talked with a lot of enthusiasm and fluency and represented the image of his company. He didn’t advocate any negative ghetto activities. He might have irritated a few middle-class snowboard nerds but big deal, some people like the ‘ghetto’ look. Some people also like mohawks and tattoos, just because others don’t doesn’t mean you have to go and criticize the people who make and promote products to them, correcting their grammar and whatnot. It’s just business. Here in Japan, people love to wear colorful clothing to snowboard. The white people that come over on expensive package deals tend to wear browns and blacks, thus rendering them pretty difficult to spot once they get amongst the trees and powder. Also, they all look the same in the lift line so it’s difficult to know where your pals are. I reckon Tyrant snowboards could do OK over here. People don’t worry about ‘ghetto credentials’ they just wear what they like and ride what they like. That’s why it’s the ‘illest’ place to snowboard!!! LOL
u probably hate me i do too, your so much like me i feel sorry for you, but i think your pretty, pretty sure, you will profit you will get hurt, eat my words they taste like dirt, im only ashamed cuz i know what its worth… – Sole
Props to ms snow, I agree with you completely. A lot of people have lost sight of what is truly important, getting out there and riding. It shouldn’t matter what others think of you or your style. It should be about the excitment you feel getting off the first chair of the day. Or cruising through some gnar pow.
My only comment is that whoever owner-TS is is not an owner of Tyrant. No owner of Tyrant would talk or engage in these internet battles. Everyone has there opinion’s. I have mine about the video how we were represented. We were not able to approve that before it went out. That was out of our hands. Tyrant is a company for everybody not just thugs. It’s hard being the new comers in a heavy scene of competion and trends. Tyrant doesn’t want anyone from our company cusing online for whaever reason. So whoever is playing owner please stop.
“Tyrant is a company for everybody not just thugs.” Thugs? A heavy scene of competition and trends, he also says. Who needs a thug trend in the snowboard scene anyway? Fuck tyrant!
AAAAaaRRrggGGzhHhhh…!!!!!! It’s the Mouth Breather!!! -best shitty insult ever
ghetto “gowns” were never meant to be a fashion statement. drug dealers must protect their investments at street level oftentimes. Also, holsters, even those of a “quick-draw” persuasion and safeties can be a deadly hindrance. hence the tall tee. only meant for concealing high caliber pistols
or compact submachine guns. super funny to see snowboarders adopting it as a fashion choice, and brands manufacturing them!!! LOL.
OP said :
“While a lot has changed some things never will.”
Thank god for that. Tyrant is a breath of fresh air in the industry.
Reminds me of the good old Whiskey/Blunt days.

lol…just stumbled across this whole thing…kinda funny how they got to you guys
I just liked the snowboards, nothing bad to say about anyone….We all are different, we just need to learn to let people be how they are.
WHile Dirty D might sound silly to some of you, or even all of you.
His inane chatter will sell boards to kids who are just as white and just as “dope”.
And after all, isn’t that sales is all about?
