SIA Day 1 Recap

By Angrysnowboarder @angrysnowboard · On January 27, 2012

Well unless you live under a rock or just don’t care about next years snowboard gear then you know it’s the annual pilgrimage to Denver for the annual SIA trade show. If you follow the site on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram then you’ve probably seen the countless updates that I’ve posted over the course of the first day. If not here’s a slight recap of what you missed.

Sims now made in North American in Quebec by one of the original guys that worked with Tom Sims back in the day when they were made there. Can anyone guess what that ribbed technology is? Hint it’s patented and took 16 years to perfect.

Now Snowboard bindings you know you’ve been curious, you might have speculated, hell you don’t even know what they are. Well relax I checked them out and honestly the concept is sound and the binding is built exceptionally well.

Dye Optics yes the same ones that make the paintball face masks and stuff. For a first year company they’re solid.

Endeavor Board of Directors fired up the flux capacitator and took you back to the past with these graphics.

Flow‘s got cap straps now.

I like to carry around breast implants for boobie comparisons.

Yep 686 made snowboards.

The Venture no split.

Those Flow bindings sure look a lot like Ride’s. Wonder if Flow licensed from Ride.

Dave, I was going to say the same thing. Very similar to rides toe caps. not that it’s a bad thing, Love their caps, solid fit on any boot regardless of the company. since going ride, I haven’t switched it up, but this concept from flow intrigues me.

except that they’re probably still rear entry so probably a totally different fit and feel, but yea definitely see the ride or burton kids binding influence
