Well what can be said about Rocker Wednesday? The conditions were blustery and evidently when snow sticks to my handle bar mustache it forms a snowy fu manchu. I was hoping to get a chance to ride a few more rockered boards, but getting on 8 boards and riding 9 total wasn’t a bad start.
I have to give kudos to my buddy Duncan for once again hooking it up. This guy is a marketing departments dream he makes me stoked to send people to Loveland.
The beauty about demo days here is that I can get a chance to talk to all my reps and friends at once. I was stoked to find out my L1 outerwear was shipping later in the day and I could have it as early as monday, mmm new outerwear so steezy. I love hearing the rumors and whats to come for the following season in gear.
It was a perfect day to see how the Oakley Gold lense does in flat light. As always Oakley made me happy and I couldn’t ask for anything else. Now I just need a few more lenses to round out my quiver of eyewear and I’ll be good to go.
Unfortunately I wasn’t able to ride the Artifact 85 as they didn’t have it in their fleet. I should be getting on it in February hopefully. I did see a Signal Park Rocker and dear god that thing looks like a bow thats been loaded and ready to fire. I think it just might be a bit over kill.
I was stoked to be able to ride the new Capita Horrorscope in both the 152 and 156 size. Both were super stable and I’ll have a review of them up soon enough. Burton didn’t let me down for once. The Hero and the Con Dom were solid, like to the point I would consider riding them more. The Nitro Sub Pop is interesting and I was the first person to ride it, seeing as there are only 6 in the country right now I’m stoked on that fact. The big let down was Mervin I’m so over it with them and the fact their stock got down to 1.54 today tells me they’re fucking screwed in the pooch. I’m done even wasting my time riding their shit, unless by some freak chance it dumps 2 feet of snow and they actually have a banana hammock. I hoped on the K2 WWW rocker and Turbo Dream again just to give them a second chance, I don’t think I’m much of a Turbo Dream kind of guy but the WWW in the 155 surprised me.
All in all the more I ride rocker in any form the more I adapt to it. Cambers days are seriously numbered. There’s just so many interesting things on the tech side of it going on that I’m going to have to just keep riding various versions of it.
