Nitro T1 with Raiden Zero’s My Take
The T1 has been in the line for a while and has morphed a bit over the years. Now it has 0 camber and is being tweaked yet again. Here’s my look at how it rode.
Board: Nitro T1
Size: 155
Camber Option: Zero camber so the board is as flat as your 7th grade girlfriend but probably easier to nail and definitely doesn’t say no.
Bindings: Raiden Zero’s
Stance: 22
Angles: 18 negative 15 Goofy
Boots: K2 T1 DB size 10
My Weight: 165
Resort: Winter Park
Conditions: Overcast, windy, cold, and generally pretty shitty.
Preconceived Notions: I’ve always thought this board was too stiff, perhaps now it’s softer and the zero camber will make it feel more broken in.
Flex: Yeah still pretty stiff.
Stability: It might be stiff but it’s definitely not as stable as it could be it just felt like it was slapping down hard any time I went over a small bump.
Ollies/Pop: Felt kind of dead like you could get it to pop but not to what you’d want.
Butterability: Eh it happened don’t know how but it did.
Cruising: The sidecut wasn’t as great as it could have been, laying over hard carves took more effort than it should have.
Jibbing: Wasn’t fun at all took more work.
Rider in Mind: High end park rider, I guess?
Personal Thoughts: Once again another preproduction deck that just felt too stiff like its predecessor. Personally I’d love to see this deck have an Asymetrical side cut.
What They Say: The T1 has evolved into one of the most fun twins on the market, because of its versatile shape, multiple sizes, standard and wide widths and forgiving flex. On top of all of that we have made great even better by adding our Reflex Core Profile and Zero camber. The combo of these two innovations gives the forgiving feel of a Gullwing board, but the pop of a camber deck. The T1 is easy to manipulate at the slow speed for tech tricks, but it still has tons of control for when you’re pointing it. Another bang for your buck is the Railkiller edge that is 100% thicker and with longer teeth to combat the harsh impacts on all types of rails. The T1 has prove itself once again this season by winning in numerous readers’ choice board tests, so go get some!
Binding Compatibility: Probably should have gone with Phantoms instead for this deck.
Binding Adjustability: 2 screws in the baseplate and on the fly adjustments.
Straps: Toe strap could have been better and the heel strap put pressure on my ankle.
Highbacks: Little too much torsional give but this is a skate style inspired binding.
Binding Flex: Softer flex more of a jib binding.
Ratchets: No issues here. Rip it and grip it.
Rider in Mind: Jib kid
Personal Thoughts: Too soft of a binding for me and the heel strap put pressure on my inner navicular.
What They Say: If you want a binding that’s lightweight and delivers a skate-like flexibility, don’t look any further. The Zero has redesigned 3D shaped ankle straps and a new toe strap that is minimal yet provides better foothold. The performance side of this binding makes it great for park laps or hitting the rail down the street. The FTI AIR chassis now incorporates our 2-Bolt disc, providing the ultimate in board feel and flex. The Zero gives you the confidence to put it down on flat landings without worrying of bruising your heels. This binding is solid, lightweight and made for all-terrain destruction.

how would you compare the ride on this vs. the rook? also flex?
Stiff and Rook is fun to ride this isn’t.
Thanks for this review. I’m looking for really soft fool around bindings. Which one would be better/softer, Raiden Zero with their skate-like feel or Flux Titans RK with urethane highbacks? I’ve noticed you reviewed both as too soft for you.
If you want super soft go Flux for sure.
