Never Summer 2011
Saturday, January 30th, 2010
Never Summer is a brand that’s been around for two plus decades. They’ve slowly grown as a company keeping sustainable growth and pushing forward. In the last few years their popularity has skyrocketed with the creation of their R.C. Technology and Vario Power Grip. For 2011 they continue with this technology adding it to their full line up.
SL, Legacy, Evo, and Revolver. Some people are hating the graphics of the Evo/Revolver in person they’re WAY better!

looks nice:)
Raptor seams to have this new top sheet that was I think in summit. Do you know why raptor taken place of titan and what are the differences beetween them?

It’s got a new textiled topsheet that’s very interesting. The Raptor replaces the Titan due to the fact that the Titan was still camber. Tons of difference biggest being that it’s R.C. Tech with Vario Power Grip. I’m snagging one tomorrow so the review will be coming shortly.
I couldn’t have found this at a better time. I am looking for a new board right now to go along side my Titan tx 161. I am looking for something more flexible and ‘fun’ that I can still ride down steep runs on hard packed and even some ice as I’m from the east coast. I am not looking to go into the park as often as riding around the mountain, some tree runs and doing booters/jumps along the way.
I have my eye on the 09 Revolver-R 159 or the Libtech Dark Side 158w. I would love to stick to NS. I also saw the Legacy-R but according to NS’ site it’s similar in stiffness to Titan, which I want to get away from. Would Revolver be too soft for my needs?
Thank you for any recommendations and great site!
P.S. I must agree that the new graphics look a bit dull compared to the 09 Revolver.
To add to my previous post, I forgot to mention that I am also looking at the Slayblade. Read your reviews on it and see that it’s a lot stiffer. Is it in the same category as my current Titan or not quite?
Legacy is no where near the same in stiffness to a Titan those are two different beasts all together. Revolver can handle what you’re asking of it I rode a 59 for the longest time as my do everything deck. The Slayblade is on the same level at a Titan that’s for sure.

Thanks for the reply. I’ll most likely go with the Revolver 59. Did you ever feel out of control or washy at high speeds while on it? Were you able to stop/turn on a dime with the 59?
Thanks for your time
besides the graphic, is there any difference in the 09/10 and the 10/11 SL-R? Or are the guts basically the same.
There’s difference evidently I’m not supposed to talk about them or some shit, eh I’ll look into that if I can say it I will.
If I was charging a 45 degree pitch I’d have some issues. What’s your definition of turn on a dime?
I think that explains it.
I went ahead and got the Revolver based on your feedback as well as directly from NS and a few other forums.
Thanks again for your input.
THe problem is to find some of this board in europe.. with a decent price..
Can you do a review of the f1 r? and any other ns boards?
Dave don’t worry I’ll be snagging the whole NS line in the next few weeks to review it.
right on!!! can’t wait.
please tell us the one board you would choose if you could only ride one board from ns
Hy,
nice longboard skateboards on the second picture!
Is that the new Tyrant and Assault?
More articles from NS longboard skateboards PLEASE!
Regards, Gabor
Looking forward to the NS Raptor review. Currently ride a Titan TX 169 and am interested in how they compare. The Titan is the best freeride board I’ve had in many years of riding and I’m hoping NS wouldn’t change it unless they felt the RC version was superior. I haven’t tried NS RC but was disappointed with the rocker boards from another manufacturer (Mervin), so I’m still leery of the rocker movement. Thanks for the site and reviews!
Hi
just some questions about the 2011 premier f1…the difference with the raptor? Isn’t too heavy and difficult to lead?
And what about the heritage in pow? Easier and funny in medium snow conditions?
Premier has a directional shape with a pintail, raptor has directional reverse camber, directional shape, designed for harder charging, Heritage is fine in pow of all levels.
i just got the revolver 2011 eleven model. It is so sick. It has alot of flex and pop and the graphics are sweet. I recomend that one if your looking for mostly park action
