K2 Jibpan Rocker with Formulas a closer look
I’ve loved this board since I first rode it years ago. The constant evolution of this board has made me happier and happier year after year. Here’s my take on the new version.
Board: K2 Jibpan 2010
Size: 156
Bindings: K2 Formulas
Stance: 22.5
Angles: 18 negative 15
Boots: K2 T1 DB’s size 10
My Weight: 168
Resort: Keystone
Conditions: Sunny and blue skies and fresh corduroy
Mindset: Viva La Rocker
Tunes: Iron Maiden
Preconceived Notions: Hopefully this board isn’t too loose with the rocker.
Flex: This will be changed for production I found out. I felt it was a bit too soft torsionally. The tip and tail were still fairly playful.
Stability: Slight bit of chatter which I can attribute to the rocker.
Ollies/Pop: Of the edges it was fine, but out of the nose and tail I felt it could have used a bit more. It’s an issue that will be addressed in production.
Butterability: The rocker makes this board even more butterable than the standard cambered version.
Cruising: Edge to edge this board was fine both regular and switch. The downside for me was the flex seemed a bit too soft for my liking but as I mentioned before they’re going to stiffen it back up for production.
Jibbing: Now this board was a blast for jibbing. I loved having the rocker on this thing for that.
Rider in Mind: The kid that demands performance from a high end park stick.
Personal Thoughts: As I mentioned they’ll be stiffening it up for the production run. I know I will have this board.
Binding Compatibility: The Formula was a solid match for this board.
Binding Adjustability: They tweaked the toe ramp adjustments on the board so its easier than dealing with the pop out pins.
Straps: Same flex as this years.
Highbacks: Same as this years.
Binding Flex: The binding is actually slightly stiffer than this years but not by much. The heel cup is definitely just as rigid as its metal counter part. For being turned into a unibody binding it didn’t feel that way.
Ratchets: Easy on easy off no change there.
Rider in Mind: The guy that wants a solid all mountain freestyle binding for doing it all.
Personal Thoughts: I’m going to own this binding for sure next season. I haven’t owned a unibody binding in years but this one rode exceptionally well.

Would you say that last years jibpan had more pop in tail/nose?
I remember you saying something like popping to the moon with it (could be another revieuw as well).
And is it a good board for backcountry (considering the rocker-technology on it).
Looking for a board to use 70 percent in park and for the rest cruising around the mountain throwing 1s and 3s of stuff and this seems a good match.
The Rocker gives it a loose feel and on top of that they made it softer in the version I rode. They have since changed that for the production version. I’ll ride it again to see the difference. I wouldn’t say the pop was super bad but it definitely didn’t ride like my jibpan.
It has the jib rocker which makes it good on groomers and shit but I wouldn’t ride it in the backcountry.
Hi Angry
Do you know already does K2 change the stiffness of Jibpan or it is same as you rode?
Also is this “Jib Tip design” which “allows you to drop down 5cm in length”, is serious and if you take a longer board it can handle backcountry?
You only gain 5cm’s when you’re on edge, otherwise the board rides like any other board its size. They did stiffen it up so it’s not like the Parkstars flex.
Thank you Angry.
