I think as an American I take a lot of things I have in front of me for granted. Snowboarding has been one of those. No one can deny that snowboarding is an expensive sport and for people that are priviledged. Put a monetary price on what it costs for you and you might be amazed.
Today while I was surfing the web looking for anything that caught my attention I ended up over on Method Magazines website. It was cool seeing one of the new K2 Global pro’s Danny Larsens mini interview and other things. During the time I spent poking around their website I came across a trailer for a movie called Slovaki A True Snowboarding Movie. I watched the teaser for it and realized how well I have it living in Summit County and the United States. This documentary isn’t like all the others out there, it was straight from the heart. Filmed by Rene Eckert who also did the documentary Poland, it captures one countries love for sliding sideways.
Slovaki The Yann Situation.
What really showed to me that I was priviledged was this clip here. Snowboarding crosses a lot of lines with a lot of different people, it also means something different to everyone. I would be proud to snowboard with these guys.
Check out Rene’s first documentary Poland. Fair warning these do take a bit of time to load.
