Forum really has an interesting history with snowboarding. Honestly I haven’t ridden anything from them since the year we sold them in our shop and while hand flexing them the die cut would pop out. That was a great year for Forum.
Board: Forum Destroyer
Bindings: Forum Liens size Large
Angles: 18 negative 15 goofy
Boots: k2 T1 DB size 10
My Weight: 165
Conditions: Windy, snowing, and cold
Mindset: Lets see what Burtons done for this brand
Tunes: Judas Priest
Preconceived Notions: I honestly don’t go out of my way to ride Forum stuff. After seeing how craptacular they were back in the day and the hype train that sold them then, I can’t see them being much better quality other than the big B has dumped some fundage into them.
Flex: For a twin this thing was kind of planky. Not lively by any means and just stiff through and through.
Stability: It was a plank of course it was stable. But I like my boards to at least be lively.
Ollies/Pop: It was kind of a dead pop. Almost like ollieing on a water logged skateboard. I would do it but it wasn’t pretty. Tossing spins off the edges was not easy either.
Butterability: It’s a plank how butterable do you think it could be. It was do able but not pretty.
Cruising: Edge to edge was mediocre at best. It just didn’t have great carveability.
Jibbing: Yeah like that was fun or easy. Its a plank.
Rider in Mind: Someone that buys into the hype.
Personal Thoughts: I should have listened to my manager when he kept telling me no don’t do it man. Avoid it at all costs.
Binding Compatibility: Took the kid a bit of time to set it up. I think he was stoned and really its only 4 screws. That binding hugged the shit out of my boot too.
Binding Adjustability: Eh nothing special here.
Straps: Hey look I’m rocking Burton straps from 10 years ago. The toe cap made it look like I was riding a Forum boot.
Highbacks: Softer flexing than I would have liked. That living hinge BS though is a different story. Yes lets make a binding out of plastic and make the heel cup be part of the highback. That threw off the flex big time.
Binding Flex: Soft as me taking a poop after downing ex lax. It just was just so soft.
Ratchets: I swear these are the C 16 Ratchets from back in the day.
Rider in Mind: Follow that hype train and when it crashes and derails climb out and get on the Mervin train.
Personal Thoughts: Dear god I should have listened to my manager. These bindings were so crappy. Forum is really Burtons Morrow.
