Today was the day I ventured out of the man cave and into the world of snowboarding. Usually every season I get stoked to go ride the WROD, but with past instances of dealing with incompetance at the Basin and the fact I was so messed up from Fall Fest I decided to not ride for a few days. In the long run it was far more worth it.
I started off the morning by getting picked up by Kelly Vance editor and chief of Shred Betties and her boyfriend Eric. After loading up the truck and getting to the parking lot we got into shred mode and boa’d up our boots. I seriously believe Loveland is the lost gem of Summit County. We were third row in the parking lot and there weren’t any lines all day.
I was trying out my new K2 Formula’s on my 59 Revolver R proto and man those bindings are so awesome. The board on the other hand I think is destroyed from jibbing too many rocks at the end of the season. Over all I felt my riding was solid but I did have a few cobwebs when it came to doing certain ground tricks by the end of the day I think I’d worked out most kinks.
