Extreme Snowskateboarding Cross Training Tools!
New Innovative Cross Training Tools! How many times have you heard that one in your life? Like suddenly someone invents something and it’s so awesome it’s going to allow you to cross train two activities at once. Somewhere the gods of bad ideas sitting on their thrones of horribly misplaced ideas shoot lightening bolts out of their ass and it hits some poor mere mortal in the head causing them to go into an epileptic seizure of joy over a bad idea. From there they invest all they can into making this bad idea a reality, or better yet asking those of us to help fund said bad idea.
Recently I received this email about the new most ultimate skateboarding/snowboarding experience ever! The Krainkn not to be confused with the Kraken!
This is what the creator Kevin Rains had to say to me:
I sure could use some snowboarder love. I’m launching my new product that uses a skateboard more like a snowboard. Take a look at the link to see some vids. The hard core skateboarders hate me. That’s fine with me too. But the snowboarders love the concept. All the riders in my vids are great snowboarders. They say that it keeps them in shape for the snowboard season. To me it looks more like snowboarding then anything. Please check it out and let me know what you think.
Practice snowboarding in the summer on a skateboard. Keep in shape while you do.
I’m launching a Kickstarter for this Monday……
Evidently we renamed the site the Lovely Snowboarder? Oh wait more of that adult onset attention deficit disorder I keep hearing about must have reared its ugly head again. As someone that loves to skateboard I just can’t “love” this.
Congratulations Kevin you have now made something that makes kids look like a god damn Pterodactyl in heat with those arm placements. Just what I want is kids swooping down from the skies or at least off the tranny’s of my local skatepark circling me like some sort of caveman prey. In the event of an evening aerial attack I might misconstrue them as the Dark Knight himself and proceed to shit myself at the mere presence of a skateboarding Batman!
But lets forget these fairy tales and comic book bravado and look at this logically. You now have 2 handles on a skateboard meaning that you’re basically springing the board up with you instead of learning the actual fundamentals of skateboarding. All that lower body movement you once needed along with balance is now gone, replaced by upper body arm strength and movements. This severely limits tricks that build balance like shuv-its, kick/heel flips, varial flips, etc. etc. and instead just replaces them with a semi locked in spin around motion. Hell even a manual on the skateboard is gone as you’ll just be holding the nose up instead of learning the right muscles to keep the balance and keep it going. This is key for snowboarding as it helps with locking into presses and doing butters.
Then there’s the whole lack of originality factor you have going on. Anyone remember the Ollie Buster?
Well evidently one handle wasn’t enough so adding another one thus making the rider look like a marionette is just so much better!
What’s more astounding is that you’re asking not only for some “love” from this site that is notorious for shitting on bad ideas, but the general public for funding. If this was such a sound idea why wouldn’t you take the burden of putting the funding on yourself entirely and get a loan? Or is it because no one seems to want to support you in the skate world and it’s obvious from a snowboarders perspective that there are those of us that wouldn’t back it either.

I think a pair of bindings would be more effective…..
It helps you train for snowboarding because in snowboarding you use your arms to control your board… right?
Yes Jen we’re still all riding Snurfers in our downhill slalom contests!
Okay that’s what I thought. Wanted to make sure I haven’t been doing it wrong this whole time.
i wanna see some ollie buster nut buster fail vids where a foot slips off and board flings right into groin
