Don’t Do This

Upstart companies are nothing new to me and some actually bring something to the table, but most, especially apparel companies honestly don’t bring anything relatively new to snowboarding. Add to that someone who feels the best way to promote their product is to tag a comment on to anything remotely board sports oriented on Facebook. That level of incompetence in marketing really pisses me off, especially when it happens on our Fan Page.

Sure you’re saying I could report then ban them. Well I did that but I’d like to take it one step further and point out why they suck both as a company and as the person behind the brand. What message could have prompted this response from me?

Who wants FREE DECALS… of Mountain Junkie, Mountain Vixen, UrbanVixen, UrbanJunkie, or InCognito… let me know! I am willing to sponsor anyone that has a passion for speed & a desire to succeed…

Yeah that’s the message, seen it multiple times while browsing company updates I actually check. If you’re going that route why not just make your own fucking fan page it’s not that hard.

All you’re doing is making yourself look like a needy dim whit that has no idea how to run a company. But while we’re on the subject of the companies at hand lets try to find out more. So while the normal thing is to find their domain, all that got me was a bunch of parked sites on GoDaddy. So at least they spent the 14 bucks to buy the domain name but not set it up, is it really that hard? But what I do love is that their Twitter says to check out their pre-made website on Myspace.

So there you go I’m totally going to trust a company that claims a Myspace profile as their pre-made website. Here let me shell out some money to you please. But here’s something that stood out as interesting to me.

UrbanVixen is launching women’s T’s, Hoodies, Turtle Necks, Sweatpants, Tank tops, Beanies, and snowboarding gear including (Snowboards, Boots, Bindings, Coats, and Pants). UrbanVIxen is an expression of the Female Fox and what it represents in the board sports industry of being able to outsmart and outwit its opponents while still being the fastest fox out there.

Full blown brand coverage top to bottom? Where do you get the capital to launch into something of that nature or is it the hope that you’ll sell enough T-shirts to pay for the branching out into these sectors? Well the answer to where the capital comes from is in their main operation, a print shop that does apparel and advertising brochures. I see this thing going down faster than Perez Hilton at a gay bar.

This is the point where I just laugh, just because you invented a logo and have a way to make it does not mean you have a company. Add to that your ability to spam yourself like nobodies business, especially on a format that allows tons of people to see you and you’re presenting yourself as a needy company. There’s far better ways to guerrilla market yourself if you would either ask someone or take your hand reach up your ass and remove that head of yours. But alas that is probably too much to ask.

dude!, why did you waste all that time and effort hating on someone else!?i mean really why take that much time out of your day to rant about something like this. it certainly didnt make you sound as wise as you think you are , slander a fellow boarder. seriously grow up. we all share the slopes, if some nube wants a sticker let em go get a sticker. snowboarding should be left as an expression of self, it is not meant to be a vessel for such hate.

  9. Why did you respond? Guess you didn’t see the name of the site did you? Just so you know it’s the ANGRY Snowboarder not the I’ll jerk off your snow boner till it ejaculates rainbows and pixie dust snowboarder.
