Being a product of the 80’s that was raised in the 90’s a mixtape is something I can remember fondly. It was all your favorite jams rolled into one little rectangle you could pump on your boom box to get you ready for whatever task you had ahead of you. The days of the mixtape in its traditional sense are over, we’re now more or less dealing with the remix or DJ mix. Colton Morgan a man who has made a few movies in the past has opted to forgo the traditional format of rider parts and make a mixtape of riders set to music you may or may not like.
It’s through this format that this relatively short film shines. It also makes the replay-ability that much better as you don’t just skip a riders segment to get to the one you want to see, but you can bask in the diversity of the riders. This is the movie to slap in the DVD player as you get ready to ride for this season.
The cast of snow sliding stunt junkies:
Gus Warbington, Jesse Gouveia, Dan “Vinny” Vinzant, Corey Schneider, Sammy Spiteri, Michael Wick, Brady Lem, Max Tokunaga, Gared Schneider, Brandon Sakiewicz, Durell Williams, Jordan Morse, Blake Geis.
If you were a fan of Colton’s previous works with bHappy or last years D.A.E. then you will like this. If you’re not familiar with them, then familiarize yourself as it’s clear with this movie he’s not going anywhere. Yes, for the over thirty crowd that has now decided that rail riding is not their preferred choice of snow porn you probably won’t be stoked on this movie. There’s very minimal powder riding, but for those that understand the trials and tribulations of filming in the streets this is one to check out. It’s an equal mix Think Thank and Videograss rolled into one.
The bonus section plays just like the main movie, so don’t expect to have a menu of specific items to look through. Just know it’s worth a watch or two, if only for the comedic elements.
