SIA Day Three

Saturday was definitely a long day for many as was evident with the herds of slow moving buyers and other industry people. Never Summer is a brand that’s been around for two plus decades. They’ve slowly grown as a company keeping sustainable growth and pushing forward. In the last few years their popularity has skyrocketed with the creation of their R.C. Technology and Vario Power Grip. For 2011 they continue with this technology adding it to their full line up. With stories pouring in about how Burton took over Diamond Cabaret you could see the after effects on some of those that were not used to throwing down. SIA Day One

For 37 years Las Vegas the giant adult funland was home to the quintessential trade show of the snow sliding community. Last year marked a turning point in the history of the show as it was the final send off and this year ushers in a new location and a new vibe. Were there broshakes, pro hos, pro bros, and silicon injected hotties that know nothing about snowboarding? Powder and Rails: Legends of Tahoe

The Scene

For as long as there’s been snowboarding there’s been the “scene” which is associated with it. Over the years the scene has changed from punk rock, to thug, to emo, to whatever the hell you want to call this current incarnation of it. Needless to say as time has progressed so has the scene, people have come, people have gone, snowboarding has grown, and now more than ever the scene has morphed into a mega global conglomerate mish mash of crap. Buzzwords and hype always seem to attach themselves to any new technology that has the potential to be the real deal. If you look at the alternate camber revolution this reigns true, but what often gets over looked is the revolution in sidecuts that’s taken place. Much like camber there’s been a huge progression in what’s going on with sidecuts.
