So today I got the second day of the season in. It started out like many other days to come I was up before the sun shown down on my little piece of heaven. After the typical morning routine I snagged a ride from my roomate to Loveland.
After securing my lift ticket and breaking off some worthless part of my pants I boarded the chair lift to super fun time. The weather was great right around 40ish degrees with a slight wind that would come and go. I can’t deny that I have a certain attraction to Loveland in the preseason it could be the fact they have a real base or the fact that I don’t have to stand in hour long lift lines for 500 feet of verticle.
As the day progressed I was getting more butterific and finally feeling the cobwebs of a summer of not riding breaking away. I’m really digging my new K2 Formulas so a review will be coming for them shortly.
The sad point of the day was when I impacted with a skier. While she claims it was her fault I stick to the theory the person in front of you has the right of way, even if they do the 1 ski up hill out of control carve of death. I drilled her with my shoulder so hard she full ejected and yard sailed. I made sure she was ok and kept appologizing and everything. What annoyed me the most was that some stupid ass punk tall t wearing skier kid rolls up and starts going off on how snowboarders are all out of control. I’m fairly sure if I hadn’t been more concerned with the fact I had destroyed this womans love of snow sliding I would have beaten the fuck out of that little twat. The good thing is that she was ok and just slightly shaken up. The downside is my knee is swollen and my shoulder is jammed up real bad.
I still couldn’t believe that Ski Patrol saw this all happened and didn’t bother to come check and see if she was ok. She was laying face down for a good 3 minutes not moving then after that she was pretty distraught. But I did the right thing and made sure she was ok and helped her down the rest of the mountain.
