Board: Nitro Fury
Camber Option: Cam Out Camber. Traditional camber with a little rocker in the tips.
Bindings: K2 Indy
Stance: 21.5 Wide 18 Negative 15 Goofy
Boots: K2 Thraxis Size 10
My Weight: 195
Resort: Copper Mountain
Conditions: Overcast skies, wind, and slight snow falling in the morning to warmer temps with bluebird skies and slush snow in the afternoon.
Flex: There’s a flex point right where the camber meets the rocker, making up the softest part of the board. The flex under the camber zone is past middle of the road with a mild amount of torsional flex. Overall the flex is consistent and playful where it matters.
Stability: This board is actually super stable in chop and chunder. At speeds you don’t notice it getting bucked around.
Ollies: This board has so much pop. It’s easy to load up but it will rebound and snap super well. You’ll notice right away that the board springs into the air off anything.
Pop On Jumps: This board is at home on jumps from all sizes. It wants to pop off the lip and get into the air.
Butterability: You want to make sure that you’re engaging this board over the tips in the area that has rocker and utilizing the flex pattern. When you do it locks in and holds the butter.
Jibbing: A little bit of speed is key with this board as well as knowing where the sweet spots are. When you lock in it will have some push back so be prepared to get your weight over it and muscle it.
Carving: This board rips! I can’t stress that enough. It rolls up on edge and transitions smoothly. The beauty of this board is the asym sidecut. This one feature really lets you lay it over on your heelside edge and lets you just lay a trench. Overall this board just wants to carve.
Rider in Mind: The guy that’s going all over, wants some camber, and likes to pop.
Personal Thoughts: This board was just fucking awesome. I can’t stress that enough. It’s a board that is a quiver of one and while it is a little stiffer it doesn’t require any extra effort to drive it.
