Conditions: Sunny bluebird skies, warm spring temps, and snow that was slowly turning into mashed potatoes in the sun.
Flex: A true middle of the road park flex. Soft but poppy in the tips, stiffer under foot, and softer and playful between the feet.
Stability: New for this year they’ve added a urethane dampening system to the board called Kush Plus. This helps lessen micro vibrations. This made the board a little more damp but didn’t sacrifice any of its liveliness.
Ollies: This board has always had solid pop that lets you boost. Never once did I have to fear that it wasn’t going to make it onto a feature, over a feature, or just up on to something. You can load the camber zones and get the snap you want.
Pop On Jumps: This board is a jumping machine. Small to medium kickers come with ease and bigger ones aren’t a problem as long as you’re on point. The snap off the lip is great due to the way the carbon fiber is laid up and the new Kush Plus dampening agent does its job.
Butterability: The sweet spot in the tips is immense for playing around on the snow and really lets you go every which way you want. You can push into a press and really feel locked in, yet there’s snap out of it so if you want to revert or just swivel around you can.
Jibbing: Regardless of your speed this board excels at jibbing just as it does with jumping. The profile makes it easy to lock into all sorts of slides and presses.
Carving: Tight quick turns are fun on this board. This is where it stands out on edge. Sure you can do long drawn out carves but as you push it hard through the turn you’ll notice that the tail will start to wash out. This is due to the board being more inclined for freestyle than all-mountain.
Rider in Mind: Park guy that will cruise the mountain from time to time and wants a board that can do it all.
Personal Thoughts: I’ve ridden this board for years. Every year it’s consistently solid and stands out as a deck that can do it all. The new urethane dampening system is prevalent and you can notice that it helps absorb micro chatter. This makes the ride a bit more smooth than in years past.
