Board: Dinosaurs Will Die Genovese
Camber Option: Flat camber. Neither positive nor negative it just tows the line at zero.
Bindings: K2 Formula
Stance: 22.5 Wide 18 Negative 15 Goofy
Boots: K2 Thraxis Size 10
My Weight: 175lbs
Conditions: Normal Colorado conditions that consisted of sun, blue skies, and a bit of wind.
Flex: It’s a middle of the road park flex that has just a hair bit more play in the tips and a fair amount of torsional give.
Stability: The boards stable in varying terrain to a point, if you get into some really crazy rutted/bumpy terrain you will get bucked around. But if you’re on groomers, in the park, or riding a small resort you will be fine.
Ollies: There’s enough snap to get on urban approach features, pop off rollers, and maybe ollie a small child or two. You don’t have to aggressively load it to get the response you want.
Pop On Jumps: Small to medium jumps aren’t going to be an issue, if you think you have the legs for it try a big jump. The snap off a lip is very skate style and as such won’t give you that boost to the moon feeling.
Butterability: The boards flat which aids it in spreading that buttery love all over the mountains. The blunt shape lets you lock in to the ground and go from nose to tail as you see fit.
Jibbing: Have you ever seen a DWD team movie or one of Sean Genovese’s parts in Think Thank? Well if you haven’t you should, if you have then you know this board can jib. The sweet spot locks into jibs perfectly and lets you press till your heart is content. The flex of the board gives it rebound which aids when snapping out of a feature.
Carving: Short quick turns are easy on this deck, long drawn out carves are doable. It’s not the most grippy deck if the snow is completely sheet ice, but it won’t kill you.
Rider in Mind: Someone that likes to play on the whole mountain but has a primary park focus.
Personal Thoughts: This is a board that is versatile, but doesn’t stand out in the crowd except for the unique graphics. It’s very skate style with how it pops and how you can use it to just rally all over the mountain looking for fun features to jump off of.
