Board: Smokin Lane X Buddha
Camber Option: TTX. Smokin’s version of camber 2.0 that features a slight hinge point in the middle to give added flex.
Bindings: K2 Lien FS
Stance: 21.5 wide 18 negative 15 goofy
Boots: K2 Thraxis Size 10
My Weight: 175lbs
Conditions: Sunny blue skies, warmer than average temps, and snow with the consistency of packed down mashed potatoes.
Flex: This board is soft and playful, but not a total jib noodle. It’s somewhere below a middle of the road park deck. The abundance of the flex is in the tips and between the feet, with it slightly stiffer under foot.
Stability: Throw the notion of dampness out the window, this board feels everything. I wouldn’t recommend charging around through the chunder fields
Ollies: TTX gives the snap of camber, while still being playful. This snap is great for boosting off side hits, over rollers, and popping over ropes. Let’s put it this way snap and play is the way to go with this board.
Pop On Jumps: Keep it to the simple jumps with nothing super crazy and you’ll be fine. The pop off a lip is there but nothing crazy.
Butterability: Here’s where this board shines. You want to get weird? Perfect! Bend and twist this board however you want and it will do it with ease.
Jibbing: This board is at home on rails. Whether pressing your nose or tail or going sideways through a kink it just locks in.
Carving: While this board is softer and you might push the board too hard causing it to wash out, this deck can rip a turn. I wouldn’t recommend planning to Euro-carve all the time but it can handle it now and then.
Rider in Mind: Beside Lane Knack? The jib/butter guy that’s just going to play around inside and outside the park and doesn’t care about charging around.
Personal Thoughts: I can’t remember when or if I have ridden this board in the past. But what I can say is this is a well rounded fuck around on the snow stick. Great for bonking off tree stumps and sliding around on rollers.
