Board: Smokin Big Wig
Camber Option: WTF. Camber under foot into a rocker in the tips making it essentially a camrocker combo.
Bindings: K2 Lien FS
Stance: 21.5 Wide 18 Negative 15 Goofy
Boots: K2 Thraxis Size 10
My Weight: 175lbs
Conditions: Warmer temps making the snow a bit heavy and full of firm chunder.
Flex: This board is just a hair above middle of a middle of the road flex for an all mountain deck. There’s a bit of play in the tips and a fair amount of torsional flex.
Stability: This board is damp, not to be confused with moist which makes for a smooth and stable ride. The over all construction coupled with the camber profile really absorbs chunder.
Ollies: Having a traditional camber under foot allows you to load up the board and let it snap, the rocker acts as a hinge point which doubles up on snap. Whether hitting a side hit or boosting off a roller you can snap.
Pop On Jumps: Not the poppiest deck for park jumps, but you wouldn’t assume it would be with who this board is designed for.
Butterability: The tip shape is unique to this deck and gives a decent amount of surface area to play around on. Add to that the playfulness of the rocker in the tips and you have a high speed butter machine.
Jibbing: While not this boards strong suit if you’re keeping it simple it’ll get the trick done.
Carving: The sidecut coupled with the Magnetraction really grips when engaging a carve. This is great for quick set up turns or full blown Euro-carves. In all honesty this board is at home just ripping a groomer as well as chunder busting.
Rider in Mind: The true all mountain rider that might dabble in the park or blast some pow on a weekend.
Personal Thoughts: This board is a fun stable ride. The smooth damp ride of it is great for busting through spring like chunder and the tip shape helps plow softer snow to the side. Over all for an all mountain freestyle ride this deck is great.
