Board: K2 Raygun
Camber Option: All Terrain Rocker. 70% flat 30% rocker.
Bindings: K2 Indy
Stance: 22.5 Wide 18 Negative 15 Goofy
Boots: K2 T1DB Size 10
My Weight: 175lbs
Conditions: Sun, blue skies, low wind, mild winter temps, and fresh corduroy.
Flex: Forgiving enough to learn on yet stiff enough to charge on. This board has that tried and true all mountain flex where it’s a bit softer in the tips (near the rocker zone) and then stiffens up under foot. The torsional flex equals the lateral flex.
Stability: Not the most stable board out there, but still plenty damp to make sure you don’t get bucked around. It will survive rutted out terrain with ease.
Ollies: Here we are with another board that has skate-style pop which means you don’t have to load up the tips to boost. It’s not the snappiest deck out there and feels more like a deck that you’ve ridden forever, but it gets the job done.
Pop On Jumps: Wait till the last minute to pop off the lip and you’ll be fine. Small, medium, and even large features can be handled with this deck.
Butterability: The softer flex in the tips coupled with the rocker blends together to make for an easier pressing board. This makes butters come with ease.
Jibbing: While not known for being a jibstick, the rocker and flex pattern do make it possible to slide a feature with ease.
Carving: Just starting to learn how to turn? Perfect this board can help you with that. Want to rail a hard carve? Then let her rip! This board can turn in all sorts of varying snow conditions.
Rider in Mind: All mountain rider that does a mix of it all from beginner to advanced.
Personal Thoughts: This board is one of the more versatile decks on the planet in my opinion. It’s price point doesn’t break the bank, it can jib, jump, slash, slide, carve, creep, and handle anything you put in front of it on the mountain. Don’t sleep on this deck.
