Board: K2 Happy Hour
Camber Option: Precision Lifted Tweakend. The new version of camber from K2 where it’s flat zone into a slight up-kick.
Bindings: K2 Indy
Stance: 22.5 Wide 18 Negative 15 Goofy
Boots: K2 T1 DB Size 10
My Weight: 175lbs
Conditions: Firm snow, sunny blue skies, occasional wind gusts, and early morning cooler spring temps.
Flex: This board is stiffer through the middle and inserts then softer in the tips. It borders less on being an all mountain freestyle flex and goes to the side of freestyle twin park deck. The tweakend of course does give more play in the tips due to giving more surface area to play around on.
Stability: It’s chattery in the tips but stable in the camber zone. Which should be expected due to the flex pattern and camber profile.
Ollies: There’s enough pop to boost a roller, pop over a slow sign, and get on or over a feature. The carbon ollie bar is what gives added snap.
Pop On Jumps: Camber profiles like this help with jumps. So load it up and snap off the lip into oblivion. Small, medium, or large jumps are no issue.
Butterability: The pointy tips can catch and pull you around, but in deeper or soft snow that isn’t an issue. The Tweakend in the tips is fun for playing around and having a field day.
Jibbing: This board locks into presses really well and boardslides are great. Over all this is a fun deck for playing around on jibs.
Carving: The sidecut locks in real well for tight quick turns. Longer drawn out carves take a bit more effort. On ice or excessively firm snow I did notice this deck would wash out at times.
Rider in Mind: The all mountain freestyle rider that will spend equal amounts of time in the park as well as on the mountain.
Personal Thoughts: This board used to be what I would call a backcountry freestyle deck due to the shape or an all mountain freestyle board, these days it’s more freestyle that can handle all mountain aspects. Over all it’s a great ride and one of K2’s more versatile decks. The newer camber profile gives added snap compared to the older flat versions.
Comparable Boards: Yes Typo, Ride Burnout, Interior Plain Project Honalee
