The Drift Rocker is an oldie but a goodie from Salomon that has been reviewed a few times on this site. There’s a reason that this board constantly gets asked to be sent to us and that’s due to how predictable and fun it is to ride.
Board: Salomon Drift Rocker
Size: 154
Camber Option: Pres-Sure Rocker. Full center reverse camber goodness.
Bindings: Rome 390 Boss
Stance: 22.5 Wide 18 Negative 15 Goofy
Boots: K2 Thraxis Size 10
My Weight: 175lbs
Resort: Breckenridge
Conditions: Mid day powder chasing to park laps with the sun baking the snow and making it heavier.
Flex: Somewhere above wet noodle but not a true middle of the road park deck. Basically it’s playful but has some responsiveness.
Stability: About as stable as a board built like this with a center reverse camber can be. Don’t expect it to absorb rutted out terrain while you’re charging.
Ollies: You can snap an ollie with this board. With the camber profile and flex pattern it’s very skate style meaning that last minute set up is OK and you don’t have to pre-load the tips to make pop initiation happen.
Pop On Jumps: It’ll get the job done but it’s not the most ideal board for jumps. Small to certain medium sized jumps it works on.
Butterability: This board can spread some buttery love all over the snow muffin. It’s so easy to press and play around with on snow.
Jibbing: The tips are super predictable for locking in to presses. Between the feet slides with ease. Over all this board is at home on jibs and so much fun for playing around.
Carving: The original EQ3 sidecut of three straight lines works with the center reverse camber to allow steering under foot. If you know how to carve a soft board you can rip on this deck.
Rider in Mind: Jib kid that still hits jumps and will ride around the mountain from time to time.
Personal Thoughts: This board is predictable which makes it easy to ride. It’s probably not a deck for everyone but it’s fun and enjoyable knowing it rides like a deck you’ve been on for a whole season.

I’m looking at this board (last years) to learn/practice ground tricks and to generally mess around on when I’m out with beginners. I take it that this would be a good choice? Also I’m about 10 lbs heavier than you but still looking at the 54? One last thing – would Rome shift be a good budget binding to pair with? Thanks A.S.
Definitely a good choice my Intern which easily has 40lbs on me rode this in a shorter version and loved it. Those bindings would pair up fairly well too.
Interested in this board. Can you tell me how it rides compared to the 2012 Burton Hero? Which one would you prefer for midwest (MI) riding? I’m 5’10 about 170lbs size 10 boot. Probably novice / intermediate rider, 5 years riding
about 10-15 days a year. I like to cruise the mt and dick around on side hits/ butter and ground tricks. Some boxes, dont do rails. Thinking 154 or 156? Have a pair of 2012 Flux RK30 that id pair with the deck. Good match? How is this board on ice/ hardpack? Any changes in this board in the last 3 years? Thanks for the advice
You’ll be fine on this it’s not the best on ice.
If i have a size 12 boot will i be okay with this board or should i consider the wide?
Yeah I would highly consider it.

HEY
Looking for something easy to ride in a park, but i also like to jump. For 8 years (!!! yes !!!) i use salomon forecast era.
Its a good fast board, love the speed and big jumps on kickers, but when i want to butter or jib it makes my ass pain.
Trying to choose beetween salomon sabotage and drift rocker, which one is better and maby you can suggest smth difrent or no …..
The Sabotage will be better than the Drift Rocker on jumps. You might want to look at the Villain though or the Rome Mod/Mod Rocker.
